Is it just not possible that they didn't cap the stats on these weapons and instead left higher stat values for the novus? These are weapons that will continue to grow and maybe they wanted to give people who are putting the time and effort in these more incentive to work on them when you can just get lucky on a drop or two in coil and boom: you have an equal/better weapon. Honestly this makes more sense to me and while it may hurt the feelings of some raiders (being a raider myself they don't hurt my feelings), this just might be the case.

I think people are reading FAR.. too deep into something that doesn't need to be. Sometimes the most obvious thing is obvious because it is correct. If the scroll says +75, and tells you the caps, and trading the weapon shows that it is infact a 1 for 1 relationship then it is just that. My veil will have; Crit 44, Det 31. The old man is pretty clear in the quest text even.

Don't worry so much. The "how" is pretty clear. Get those materia into the scroll! The discussion regards whether or not the stat weights present in other weapons will apply to the Novus, the end result being that some numbers could be lower than we think if they are. It's nothing worth panicking about as it won't make the Novus inferior to any weapon except for the High Allagan weapons.

It's certainly possible that the Novus can have a higher stat weight than 75... but it would be incredibly stupid. As has been stated before, it's very unbalanced for one Novus to have more raw weight points than another. Considering that the number 75 fits perfectly with existing i110 weapons, it's reasonable to assume that the Novus will be equal to them. After all, I do believe that it was mentioned by devs that the Relic would never be more powerful than the equivalent "end game raid weapon".

As for that picture that shows Determination +23 and Crit Rate +1... it is not conclusive. That combination of stats adds up to less than 75 points of stat weight. Even if the weights are going to be correctly represented, that picture is correct. If weights are going to work the way they work for every other weapon in the game, then it won't show it until either: more than 75 points of stat weight are on a scroll... or at the very moment the weapon is converted to novus.

To reiterate. We cannot know for sure whether or not the stat weights will reduce any numbers until a scroll with Determination is completely filled!

So, stop saying this person is right. Stop saying this person is wrong. Stop throwing blame and false proof around and just do your Novus. That is the only way things will get cleared up.
