Arcanist and Summoner use the same type of book but not the Scholar.
Scholar books are unique to only Scholars.

Rogue is a "dual wield" class like it's Job Ninja and Musketeer "might" be dagger/sword x Gun or dual Guns like you said.

That would place Rogue class in the same position as Arcanist, they both would have a Job that uses unique weapon not usable by any other class/job.

Also Yoshi P did say that the Gun class/job won't be as people expect it to be.

Evidence of thief not having a guild is not evidence of thief not being a job. I tried to end the argument on equal terms saying that neither of us know and neither of us are right or wrong. Why are you here just to troll and make it go on?

I'd think Yoshida explicitly stating that Rogues used to be Thieves would mean that they wouldn't become a Job. Gladiators didn't used to be Paladins. Pugilists didn't used to be Monks. Marauders didn't used to be Warriors. You get the point? You don't go back a step in evolution to gain more power. It doesn't make sense. They already have the skills of Thieves, it's just under a new name and lore that makes sense for the FFXIV universe. Deal with it.

An old Master THF NPC, who left the Rogues guild long ago, in order to secretly maintain the arts of the THF (Steal, Mug, etc.) seeks an apprentice to pass them on to before he gets too old. Just one simple way of implementing a THF job that I thought up in 5 seconds. Have some creativity. Theres no reason THF can't be a job based on the current "Rogues used to be thieves" lore.

You forget something. Jobs have never a guild. Only classes have guilds.
And since Musketeer have already a guild in Limsa, it would be a class.

Even if the books of the Scholar is job specific to only the Scholar, it is still the same weapon type. This of a book.
Daggers and Guns aren't the same weapon type.

You don't go backwards for Scholar and Summoner. You access long forgotten arts. Rogues aren't Thieves that forgot how to be Thieves, they're Thieves that stopped stealing from people and instead employ their skills to protect Eorzea, albeit in underhanded ways.

Actually, Chemist is way more likely to come as gunner 1st job. Remember Yoshida saying that the gunner class would be "not the one people are expecting" ?

A type of gun a Musket is in the name... and is already displayed everywhere in LL, so yes the gun class would be musketeer, since it also already has a guild hall. Now they can still make the class or the job can be what we don't expect. But considering Musketeer has been the gun class since Sept 2010 when FFXIV 1.0 launched, it is expected, we just don't know how it will play.
