Guns are for the weak.

The strong don't need guns, they wield swords and use their fist and even a whm will use a twig or a piece of shaved down lumber.

Ya.. whatever. The gun is not called the great equalizier for nothing.

Even the weakest and smallest of miqo'te kittens can be a threat to the biggest of bstmen.

In short the gun gave everyone a fighting chance, hope and promise that they at least have something to protect themselves. Because, a party of "strong" adventurers, kinda heavy to carry around.

Not that I wouldn't love to see musketeer happen, and I've been wanting it for years, I wouldn't go with any word that SE hasn't given themselves. Last time we got our hopes/hype up to excessive levels, we got FFXIV 1.0.

In a world where you can get shot a couple dozen times it sort of evens out the playing field.

Keep in mind, there are a lot of gaming conventions this time of year. Most likely, Musketeer is being saved for Gamescom in August. The big American convention gets one class/job, the Europeans get the other. Honestly, it's the most fair way to do things, especially since the expansion will likely be revealed at the Japanese fan fest.

My speculation:

Rogue > Ninja

Musketeer guild is in limsa, a city full of "ex"-pirates so yeah, i think it would fit.

Also last year in the E3 only Arcanist and Summoner where announced and a little later came scholar.
If they do the same we could potentionally see Rogue having 2 jobs like the Arcanist did.

But thisnis just me hoping.

Never has ffxiv armory system just thrown a different weapon on a class for a job. Arcanist>smn/sch all use a type of book.

You are right about that and yet.

Arcanist and Summoner use the same type of book but not the Scholar.
Scholar books are unique to only Scholars.

You see what I mean?
Rogue is a "dual wield" class like it's Job Ninja and Musketeer "might" be dagger/sword x Gun or dual Guns like you said.

That would place Rogue class in the same position as Arcanist, they both would have a Job that uses unique weapon not usable by any other class/job.

Also Yoshi P did say that the Gun class/job won't be as people expect it to be.
