    And?

Why would this be terrible? It's not like you can sequence-break the game by going to places. It's not like you can unlock things that aren't supposed to be unlocked. Why the hell would letting people find aetherytes at low level be a bad thing? What affect does it even have on anything whatsoever?

If being slowed while mounted was a way to make us 'notice' the environment, why not simply make players dismount when hit and then they have to kill the mobs?

My view is either SE removes it or converts this to an auto dismount - at present, it is neither 'here nor there' kind of a situation.

So we should be able to just plow through dozens of mobs with no worries?

I think that if they remove heavy they should have mobs only deaggro at zonelines instead.

If I remember right, in ffxi while riding a chocobo, mobs did not attack or chase you at all. Kinda strange how everything went easier access in this game compared to ffxi. With mounted travel, ffxiv went the opposite direction. It does get annoying after awhile.

That's not terrible, but I think it removes the fear to run on maps ten times higher level than you. I too have fun to go unlock places unreasonable when I were in low levels. But do it with almost the security to succeed, isn't so much fun, it is as asking to start game with everything already unlocked.

I'm pretty sure that's not how it works.

I agree that Heavy is annoying. On the other hand, without it, you could just ride straight through any zone without worrying at all about the mobs. With the possibility of the Heavy annoyance, at least you have incentive to try and avoid the mobs, which makes sense and provides a bit of challenge when navigating a zone for the beastman dailies.

I certainly would not want a more penal effect, such as forced dismount.

I just don't see why the game wants to interrupt my attempts to leave by slapping me with stupid debuffs.

I am done in Zahar'ak and now I want to go.

I am not wading through killing every single mob between me and the exit because that would take an hour and I don't have an unlimited amount of time to play this game. I would rather minimize the amount of playtime that is wasted on things like riding my mount in a straight line trying to exit the daily quest area. Heavy does the exact opposite of that. It wastes more of my time on nothing. It doesn't make anything more threatening, just more tedious.

No. BUT, they should make a breed-able chocobo (Green? Since we won't be able to go over any mountains) that is immune to changes in runspeed.

    It's simple.

You make it so mobs that have a lower level than you cannot heavy you.

This way if you're a low level, you still have to fear the high level areas while getting rid of the annoyance for level 50s.
