Patch 1.18 release date now looking grim for july??

Based on the things we've gotten so far, it's only natural that people will expect the worst, and the fact that things get delayed doesn't help the situation. The moment he starts delivering is when people will think otherwise.

I remember way back when Yoshida had just taken over he said the most important thing was to "regain the players' trust". I wonder if he feels that he's achieved that?

Kinda agree there. The lack of communication made everyone I knew assume the worst news for the patch, myself included. They all quit again and told me to let them know when the patch date was announced. After no communication and SE still posting tiny little pricks of information I feel like they are just trying to give people something to talk about and distract them from the lack of communication about the progress or a new estimated date, seeing as the old one passed a while ago.

I don't really want an exact date, and understand that this patch is pretty massive and it is most likely intimidating to them knowing we are waiting and wanting this patch to be everything it should be with as few errors as possible. I can't imagine how careful they are trying to be. I welcome every change I have seen so far and got really excited about playing again. I would just like to be informed IF there will be a patch at all this month, next month or if I need to go find something else to do for a while. It is disheartening daily checking for updates and seeing silence. I constantly read all the forums and the Lodestone every day since release but this is my first post. I have been tempted many times but felt the negativity would totally drown me. I am more then happy to see that people still exist with something positive to say or that have any hope for FFXIV, and I feel terrible when I see that the loyal and helpful people that are left here, are still being left without answers, excited and yet not sure if they should be.

This time I might stick it out for a while, forget crafting, forget battle classes... and just go fishing while I read a book. Though that will eventually get old as well because I no longer have anyone to play with or talk to most of the time due to the large amount of people that left again until the patch. I just can't stand the massively annoying spam of the 1 button..... I detest being a mage class and it saddens me because I spent 8 years as a mage on FFXI. I really miss playing a fun mage class.

I will be pretty happy to get any information at all at this point about the news on the patch. I fear the worst right now and can't really get my hopes up... but I will continue to watch closely and hope for the best for FFXIV. I really do think it's beautiful and worth fixing. I just think communication with patches and delays needs to be better sorted. If people are going to get mad about patch delays anyway don't make them mad about lack of communication as well.
