well actually .. yes.. yes it does. its not about being elite... its about knowing how to play the game.. they need a lot more in depth progression in the job line that will not allow you to go past a certain level without knowing all of the skills and a test of those skills up to a certain level. it would stop a bunch of people from rage quitting.. which is caused by people not knowing their jobs. and ultimately stop a ton of bitching on the forumsRoulette isn't there for you to judge people's numbers. It's there to help others finish a dungeon for story, quest, or hunt purposes.
If you want serious dungeon groups then you need to start finding them elsewhere like in other FFXIV forums or linkshells.
As some have said, this game is highly successful because it covers all bases and isn't there to solely for end-game and "technical players."
An mmorpg doesn't survive solely on number-crunching-gear farming "elites."
Sorry but it will not. Even in top guilds there's drama.well actually .. yes.. yes it does. its not about being elite... its about knowing how to play the game.. they need a lot more in depth progression in the job line that will not allow you to go past a certain level without knowing all of the skills and a test of those skills up to a certain level. it would stop a bunch of people from rage quitting.. which is caused by people not knowing their jobs. and ultimately stop a ton of bitching on the forums
You only replace one form of complaints with another. Humanity as a whole will never be pleased.
I had a first timer in Duty Roulette doing Satasha with me. He was a CNJ. He couldn't keep up with the healing on the final boss and called me out saying I couldn't tank (I am on my Hayley character, and was a GLA19 at the time). I told him to keep on the healing as I've been playing since 1.0 and I know the current mechanics. The MNK50 (with Relic) in the group started LOLing at him because the CNJ was a first timer, when I was tanking the actual boss and all the adds kept coming up and the CNJ didn't know how to stop them...
I can barely do anything but laugh at this. Trying to control human behavior is like trying to stop an incoming tsunami. You might look bad-ass for a moment but once that moment passes you still look stupid like the rest of the idiots scattered across the ground. You won't change anyone, anything, anyhow, by complaining how your "time" was wasted. People will act how they wish to act regardless of how anyone pisses, moans, and groans. A dead horse is still dead no matter how many times you beat it.
Lol so pressing 1,2,3 and slightly trying is being elite? I don't expect people to go all out trying to reach their maximum potential dps or some bullshit like that. But to sit there spamming the same skill over and over again and to not move out of AoE's because that's their definition of "fun". Yeah that's not fun, that's just laziness, means everyone else has to try even harder just because one person wants to have "fun".
I'm all for that person if hes doing DF for story etc w/e, I'm glad to help. But please don't say that slightly trying = trying to be elite? Like are you fcking serious? Lol ok.
And by the logic of a lot of people in this thread " brb let me fap, eat cheetos, auto attack and maybe only physik as a summoner" because it's fun and it's MY money so everyone else can just suk a huge hairy one?
AMIRITE or AMIRITE
Like I said before, if a player is legitimately trying in a dungeon whether it's for their daily for story etc. That is fine. But "trying". does NOT equal being elite.
lol he sounds like an amazing man.
I used to be a lot more outgoing when it came to helping people out with these issues, but lately (more often than not) I just keep running into the "don't tell me what to do" knuckleheads who think they're the best at what they do when even the least astute observations say otherwise. Heaven forbid you should try to even hint at their problem or give constructive advise because they will flip shit even when worded politely and subtly presented. Ask people to do something for themselves and they act like they're doing you a favor. Maybe I'm just unfortunate with this but frankly it has gotten to the point I can't even be bothered with it anymore.
Honestly if people could just take responsibility for themselves and find the 10-15 minutes to read up on their job and ask some questions here and there this issue wouldn't be a problem to begin with. As to the why, it could be due to laziness, incompetence, self-centered indifference, or possibly a mixture of the aforementioned. Your guess is as good as mine.
If human history tells us one thing it is that we are not above anyone. Your standards should never be imposed upon anyone else no matter what you think of them. It is arrogant and ignorant to think that in a random chance encounter (DF) that people should conform to you.
People learn in different ways, at different times, and most of all, they learn better by experience than by being told what to do. Let them experience dying for pulling mobs before the tank does even if you tell them. Let it sink in without you wasting your time typing. Growth by experience is better than growth by forceful talk.
If the forum administrators/moderators are reading this. Please consider making a ban against Duty Finder complaint threads. It poisons the game, and poison is the last thing this game needs.
An atmosphere of hatred towards each other isn't the way to solve things.
What I would like to see is suggestions for DF options. Solutions are better than complaints.
Can't wait for duty roulette as a party. Gone are the days we have to put up with people who don't know anything about their class.
