Is there any reason to not change jobs once you hit 30?
There is no reason. There's no reason to not do your class quests which guide you to your job quest anyways. If you're above 30 and don't have your job yet, then you are being lazy, simple as that

This is some of the problem, some do not do their job to the fullest. Some people do, they excel at their job. I got a PLD that I know if he see's someone get hate, run to him and he'll cast cover so I can restore HP and he can grab hate. SMN's who don't raise when people are dying but things aren't going well. A well timed Mantra can really help make things go smoother, taking a knock back from dmg on bard to help cast ballad etc... there's so many things that people just don't do because if it hinders them at all but could potentially help the run but make it longer..a lot won't.

Then there's those DPS who just stand in the middle of every AoE / line of sight..like deer starring into headlights..they just go right for it!
