Why does everyone blame the tank?

I was running regular mode Brayflox because i am leveling up my WAR, I main SCH. Healer was kind of under geared, level 20 items and had empty jewelry slots. He wouldn't esuna the poison debuff and kept letting me die. We wiped at aitar twice before we completed the instance. After the fight the DRG blames me for the wipes. Saying i need to worry about keeping my self alive and not about the mechanics of the fight.

If I dont worry about fight mechanics then the dragon wouldve kept healing himself. And isnt the healers job to keep the tank alive? Healer wasnt doing his job and my defensive cooldowns (Thrill of battle, second wind, convalescence,foresight, bloodbath) can only help so much. I told him to take a look at the healer gear. He responded with a bunch of expletives...

Im starting to like tanking more than healing. But these type of dbags are getting annoying.

There are a lot of reasons most tanks don't do random groups and no amount of rewards will prevent that.

This is true, I've caught people being just horrible to tanks recently. Nothing S.E. can do to have you want to go into a run just to be treated like dirt by a DPS.

I joined a run yesterday with a BLM who was in the middle of yelling at the PLD on his first time in vigil, and just got ugly. Finally voted to dismiss the run, as he went through his rant of everything that was going wrong in the run which surprisingly didn't include himself. It was an interesting thing to walk into.

But tanks get blamed first, part of it's because everyone else doesn't think they did anything wrong. Though really it's a mixture of everyone contributing in some way and there's a few variations of how things can go down that would cause a pt to die and not just the tanks fault either. But those DPS..are sensitive little flowers that you can't tell them that.

Not defending the healers lack of gear, but I will say this.

At the level for Brayflox normal mode, a scholar has no skill to remove poison or other status ailments. That is Leeches and is a level 40 skill.

I know SCH doesnt get leeches till 40. That run was with a WHM tho

And once per minute or two, you can use antidote for the poison debuff, heck even the healer can run to you and use it on you

Yes, you need to keep the dragon out of the poison pool cause he'll regen.

So you are doing good. Keep at it, don't lose hope: for bad PUGs giving harsh comments, it's only going to get worse..

i had the same problem yesterday tanking on War. My Pld is 50 so i know what im doing or atleast i should xD. when we started our healer was a 33 cnj (no whm) her gear was passable the problem was she was a bot... spaming medica out of my range and then running up beside me to cast cure II.. we made it to the boss somehow losing protect because she only cast it once and didnt cast SS the whole dungeon. At boss we wiped after asking several times for ESUNA!!! 2 of us dieing with max poison stacks lol.

So the party vote dismissed her and her rep popped in lvl 34 cnj >< but he was a person and it was his first time there so i told him use esuna and avoid stuff and we beat it first try.

The Next run of bray we get a archer in a Cowl and Mnd earrings who half way into dungeon dings 37 w/o brd... he was terribad. i asked him nicely if he knew he was wearing mage gear and i got no reply.
Is this a new trend just not getting jobs?
