The only thing I find annoying about DRG is the mandatory positional attacks. Boss turns to do something or adds running wild. Your HT may not connect. Gotta keep trying for that 15% damage buff. Your ID may not connect. Gotta keep trying to get Disembowel and Chaos Thrust up. But it's hard to say that they should change that aspect as it's one of the things that differentiates DRG from MNK.

"mandatory positional attacks" "annoying about drg" Wat? Spend an hour playing MNK and you won't -ever- feel that way about drg again.

Let's just not argue about which class is harder to play.
In the end none of them is hard to play because you get used to it, there's something called muscle memory and both classes can be played with eyes closed once you get used to it. (Mind the boss mechanics and AoEs, I'm talking about the rotation and priorities here!)

You're joking, right? The positionals on MNK are NOT mandatory to keep combos going. They are mandatory for maximizing DPS. On DRG if the enemy is spinning around as you try to land a positional and you miss... Welp, time to try again. You can not apply Disembowel and Chaos Thrust at all if Impulse Drive somehow doesn't connect. Each job has its' ups and downs, and I enjoy both.

I'm not here to argue difficulty. But missing positionals on DRG vs MNK is a measurable thing. The penalties are not the same and one inhibits ones ability to DPS more than the others' does.

Well a BLM/SMN has roughly 80% more magic defense than a DRG but a DRG does not have 80% more HP. The problem more or less lies in the way the encounters are designed to rarely have AOEs with physical dmg, making the advantage that DRG has in physical defense less relevant.

I have seen statistics showing DRGs on average losing roughly 71% life by AOEs, with other classes losing less.
Then on the other hand all mechanics that actually deal phyisical dmg, DRG is in a huge advantage, due to having higher HP on top of higher physical defense. Its just that they are far and few between.

The positionals on DRG are not mandatory for anything other than maximizing dps either. And you don't -have- combos on Monk, so that's a silly comparison. But there is -far- less worrying about position on DRG than on MNK, so complaining about two abilities with position requirements compared to monk is just silly.

Has nothing to do with what mandatory means. I used to be annoyed with positioning on DRG until I levelled monk. Now, the positioning on drg doesn't bother me in the slightest.
