Aside from that, no I am not saying anything like in your post. First of all you have to play the job to fully unlock the job. You just don't get your soul stone for free. Second, yes going into duty finder and going as something you don't know how to play well is exactly how you learn how to play. This is how the SMN who is going as SCH for the first time learned how to be a SMN in the first place.
And it isn't rude for the person who has zero idea how to heal to go in to a dungeon and waste 3-7 other people's time? It's entirely possible to have leveled to 50 as smn and go into a dungeon as scholar for the first time and be able to perform your job function. If the person hasn't bothered doing what they need to to be ready for that role it's perfectly acceptable to vote kick them.
