FFVII - THE game had it all, a very good story with a great balance of heroes and bad guys, a cool battle system and was one of the first games that truly use the graphic potential of the Play Station, also when certain pink girl die… hoo boy.. I mean …How many FF story’s kill one of you regular party members and actually removed to never see it or use it again? That sensation was unique, something than only an immersive story can give you.

FFVIII - I remember it most of the time for the battle of the Gardens, was a scene than really blow my mind, I just love when you land in the middle of the battle and start running, I think I play that part like 100 times.

X - Was a masterpiece in the story and was the fist to make use of voices (The Lip-Sinc was terrible but the casting was amazing) also have a one of the most memorable character for me; Auron. And the best representation of Bahamut as an ally summon. All who disagrees needs to die with a overkill Gigaflare xD

XII- i like it for the battle system, was one of the most complete and give you endless liberty, also the maps were amazing, each time I log in at FFXIV I remember plenty of that game, you should know why if you pay attention to both worlds and lore

    We did get Gilgamesh.

I use my Yojimbo on your Bahamut. Of course, he Zantetsuken your unit. ;p

Anyway, all FF games since voice acting got added has removed immersion for me. The simple act of being able to name my character brought me in closer to the games. I hate that they have removed that.

    Either XI or IV.

XI because it took up 4 years of my life and I actually regret nothing, and IV because it had some really difficult fights and a storyline that kept me interested until the very very end. (Not talking about TAY because that was like really terrible fanfiction compared.)

I've always been a huge fan of pretty much any title set in Ivalice. This includes Vagrant Story, which isn't Final Fantasy -- but is still wicked good.

I don't know what it is about Ivalice that makes me so happy, if I had to guess I'd pinpoint the lore and how things all tie together so well.

Apart from that, my favorite numbered titles are IX, X, III and VII. VIII will always hold a special part of my heart-space, just due to the fact that my friends and I played it pretty much non-stop when we were growing up. We'd trade our single battered copy back and forth until it was so scratched it became unplayable. I was happy to see it available on Steam.

I never got a hold of VI, and as much as I've heard about it, I guess I need to make an effort to pick it up. I just deeply hope that another game is released that's set in Ivalice, or maybe that my secret (now not-so-secret) dream of having an MMO based on Crystal Chronicles is released in the future >__>

    XI - Pre Abysea

Best community I ever seen in a mmo.
    Strong economy
    Expansions had memorable story lines.
Nearly endless content.. 20,000+ hrs of content
Content that you could always involve everyone in the guild. No matter if it was 4 ppl, 12ppl, 30ppl, or 60 ppl
    Focus on horizontal development

After that I would say 7 and 10 liked them about the same

Final Fantasy 7 : lots to do, I always had something to do, searching for the summons, fighting the weapons, golden saucer, chocobo racing, breeding chocobo's, the story and sephiroth and the whole games soundtrack, the materia system and limit breaks cheesy side quest that made me laugh.

Final Fantasy 3/6 snes and playstation, kefka's laugh, chocobo music, sabin suplex, fighting Doom train, the ability to use espers and to use them to build up certain stats, the story was epic, doma's theme, still wonders what happen to the ghost that defeated Odin that turned him to stone.

the arena with ultros, shadows side story when he sleeps in bed at doma, zone eater who take you to gogo, the love story's and morph ability on terry was nice. THE OFFERING

In my case, we also used to have radio show in our school, it didn't last long because eventually people lost interest after a year or so, but we have FFVIII re-enactment during lunch breaks and the like. I'd type all the dialogues while playing the game and then we'd cast some of drama club members to read and re-enact it. Some of us have the VIII OST too so we'd include the exact songs during certain dialogues. It was plenty fun to arrange XD I voiced a few characters but my favorite had to be dr. Odine.

However, my favorite FF of all time is IX. I loved every single thing about it, the world, characters, dialogues, songs (I still listen to Melodies of Life daily since it's on my permanent playlist). I was in the minority in my country since everybody loved VII or VIII though lol.

Final Fantasy VII: It's my favorite materia system, and I also love the kind of summon it uses.
A special mention to Final Fantasy VIII who was the first FF using a more "likelife" models and not "big-head-small-body-like" models. Sadly I found the Guardian Forces system to be inferior to the FF7 Materias.
The most recent FF I've played beside this MMO, was Final Fantasy XII. I enjoyed it (Penelo is my favorite character in it). But sadly I missed summons from it (the kind I could get from FF7 or FF8).

Final Fantasy X looks interesting story wise. But I've tried it few times but I never could play it more than a hour because I could not stand it's control/interface system.

Final Fantasy X (followed by VIII)

    Reasons.
I will never forget the story. Ever.

I can forgive it's hefty linearity for the memories that game has given me.
Most people just say "Oh, Tidus is whiny. Therefore, the game sucks!". But, to me, Tidus is one of few FF Protagonists that had any serious character development.

    *WARNING FFX SPOILERS INCOMING*

Going from the fairly self-centered, immature boy that he started as, to a mature, selfless individual who makes the ultimate sacrifice to give up his "life" so that his friends can continue to live.

The whole world of Spira is such an excellent point in gaming for me.
The whole idea of the spiral of death, and people living in ignorance of the true nature of Sin, is something that I found extremely interesting and saddening.
The ending of FFX is one that will stay with me for plenty of years.
I cried like a little girl at the ending, and I am not ashamed to admit it.

    *SPOILERS END HERE*

So, to me, FFX takes the cake because of an incredible story filled with emotion.
Great characters, who, for the most part, had some excellent character development.
An excellent world that had some seriously saddening aspects to it.

It's my favourite game of all time for many reasons.
