I got this one run in Longstop (Hard).

War tank. In a good 4 atma books worth of tomes this tank was the very first to stop at the **TOP** of the ramp. No tank I have ever had before did that. WE wiped because I did not know he was going that far. Had Seal popped in prep to stop at the **BOTTOM** of the ramp and start spamming C2, M2, ect. But Seal was basically gone once I found out WTF was going on and where he stopped. "L2P" rants started. Not to mention the tank bolted off before even protect was done (This is getting more and more common. I don't even bother with stoneskin anymore).

So basically OP. Zero sympathy. Come level WHM and see what crap we get. Tanks are the biggest, most arrogant pricks in the game. With your bailing before CS's are done. Bailing when someone says they are new. Bailing because it was taking longer than 10 min to clear a zone. Hell bailing whenever you want because of your 2 second invites... wahhhhhh cry me a river OP.

I actually get more actual commendations as a DPS than as a healer/tank.

With healer/tank, people in my parties generally go one of these routes (in order from most often):
    A) Tell me how great I am, but don't give me a commendation.
    B) Tell me how horrible I am.
    C) Say nothing, no commendation.
    D) Give me commendation, but don't say a word.
    E) Give me commendation and praise.

As DPS, I generally get one of these (in order from most often, but not exclusive):
    A) Get commendation(s)
    B) Get commendation and some words of praise.
    C) Get commendation and have people asking me for advice.
    D) Tank/healer is blaming the other and don't even look at the DPS.
    E) Get asked to do less damage.
    F) End up tanking/healing. (Pretty much guaranteed to get at least one commendation)
    G) End up tanking AND healing.
    H) End up soloing a boss.
    I) Healer/Tank decides that the dungeon isn't worth it for whatever reason (tank/healer 'undergeared,' copperhell HM, etc). Healer/Tank quits and the other follows suit. DPS quits. I leave.

In the end, most of my commendations are as DPS.
Generally here is what I see:
    Healer:
    0-7 commendations, usually 0, 1, or 2.
    Tank:
    0-3 commendations, usually 0, 1, or 3
    DPS:
    0-7 commendations, usually 1, 2, 3, or 7.

And yes, I've gotten 7 commendations as a DPS before. For healer, it seems to not matter how well I do, I generally get 1-2 with some 0 runs. In fact, for healer, it seems that when I completely screw up, I get 0, 3, or 7. When I do especially well, it seems to be a stable 1 or 2. For tank, it mostly doesn't matter, I'll usually get 1 if I don't try. If I do especially well, I either get 0 or 3. For DPS, I'll usually get 1 or 3 with some 7s. This seems partially based on how hard I try. If I end up tanking, healing, both, or soloing, I usually end up with 2 or 3. Oddly, if I get asked to reduce my damage, I usually get 3. If I play normally, usually i get 1 or 3 or 7. If I play while I'm falling asleep through the dungeon (like, literally falling asleep for a few minutes at a time), I tend to get 3.) Actually, if I play while falling asleep, I tend to get 3 regardless of my role...

And I know I'm a pretty bad DPS and an ok tank, I'm really a healer.

If you were to exclude the about two weeks of titan EX (kept failing for various reasons from DCs to people getting hit when they were out of the aoe to Titan just cheating (like gaol being broken by Titan (not the party, but by Titan), Landslide hitting people who weren't even close to the area, Titan attacking after heart being broken, etc.), a few times my fault (No reaction speed means that I generally fail the first time I experience something-and no, a video doesn't help due to various reasons)). But excluding that, I have... about 150 commendations a week. Out of which, I'd say about 80-120 each week are as DPS.

    =
    TL;DR

My point being that I don't think that anyone should look at commendations as an excuse to say that tanks and healers aren't thankless jobs. It really depends on the person. I'll probably collect my Golden mount once my warrior finishes the hunting log or hits 50. I don't really go to Gridania these days outside of relics.

    ===
    ===

Anyways, something I have been noticing a lot lately is that either the healer or the tank will not be doing their role (or the DPS won't be) and the blame will generally go on either a tank or a healer.

I literally watched a SCH who had Selene out, but never silenced. (And I know that Selene can only silence every third which makes the rotations really odd since it literally looks like: SCH, PLD, None, etc.) After like five tries, people started blaming the tank. But it was like: Well, SCH isn't silencing, so HV is hitting. And under no circumstance should your BLM heal for more than your healer even counting crits in.

I had one SCH who was throwing out blame on the tank that they were healing when they were only using physick. No Lustrate, no Aetherflow, no Sacred Soil....

I had one WHM who refused to use Medica 2. Blame automatically went to me for being "undergeared" (despite having better gear than the other WHM, I didn't have an atma and had glamoured equipment (I like some of the level 1 gear's looks, so sue me)).

I had several healers die once (usually because of their own fault) and quit.

I have had several tanks quit the dungeon right away because:
    A) "Oh, this isn't the right party." or something to that line.
    B) "Ok guys, remember, [name] is first for recommendations" "Wait, wrong party." or something to that line.
    C) "Copperhell, ugh. I hate this dungeon." or something to that line.
C part 2) "Titan, ugh. Bye." or something to that line. (Titan NM-really easy to tank/heal I love getting it as my roulette as a tank/healer).
    D) "Oh well, it is only a thirty minute wait anyways. Cya, have fun requeuing" or something to that line
    E) "Oh a SCH/WHM... Failed run, cya."
    F) "No BLM? Cya."
    G) "No BRD? Cya."

So on top of harassment that happens way too often, there is also the issue of where Tanks (and even healers) don't even attempt the dungeon because it isn't their ideal dungeon/trial/party. This generally doesn't help with resentment towards the other roles which doesn't help with stopping the harassment.

I mean, I'm seeing it like this: Person A gets ditched by Role B 20 times in a row. After a while, Person A has in their mind, Role B are ditchers. When Person C in Role B later teams up with Person A, they already have in their mind that Person C is a ditcher, even if it isn't true. Person A, seeing Person C not ditching right away, decides either consciously or unconsciously to get their revenge on Role B using Person C as a scapegoat. Person C now sees Person A's role as a bully role. Now when Person C sees Person A's role in a party, they assume that it is a bully. Cycle of hatred continues.

The healer of love and justice! (Or the mad/insane/evil/berserk healer depending on who you talk to).
I've played healers for so long that I can heal in my sleep literally (People have seen me do it).
I like to do a bit of everything, but my preference is healing+support (until /that/ happens). FF14 title: Macro Queen

I think the healers wants the same as Tanks: special mount. next will be a lack of DPS

Please, don't generalize all bec of a few bad apples.. I myself do all jobs, and it all comes down to proper communication. if there is none, and there is wipes, then people need to ask themselves "what's going on?" instead of "you suck"

You are pro healer? fine, you can 'suggest' direction to those that you see have some lack of grasping the concepts.

I am by no way defending arrogant people, no matter the class: just don't, put them all in one basket.

    Have fun! ^^

Honestly, this perfectly describes most (not all, but most) of the tanks I see as well. Sorry, tanks, but this is the unfortunate majority of people playing your role.

There is always room for improvement. Yesterday went to help an FC mate for his animus tome 'copperbell mines HM' we were 3, a BLM went with us.

We thought 'piece of cake' well.. not at all...

Don't know if he was japanese/PS4 without keyboard - there was no reaction to our talk to him..

    he/she NEVER used.. Flare..

We wiped 4 times at last boss bec of lack of DPS.. I even asked.. bec I was on crystal duty "did you ever see a Flare?" - nope.

So, everyone can be bad, even if max lvl.

We were sooo drained it wasn't fun at all.

And the drop: for BLM lol

I guess there are days like this.. brush it off, tomorrow is another day.

Dang my friend on Famfrit wants me to change server and join them.. *scared now..

I prefer to be on the minority then. It's the person behind the screen that makes a difference, not the class/job.

Just like in real life, not because you are a policeman, that it gives you the authority to be a smart ass and prick on people because you know they need you.

Well, you have to remember though, when we join a DF, it's not just Famfrit (or whatever world you're on) you're partied with. You will get people from any number of servers.

And I agree with you, it is the person that makes the difference. Unfortunately, I think a lot of people let this "tank power" get to their head, much like policemen that use their power to be asses.

I find it is common practice to pull the mobs up the ramp and around the corner at the little river.
Tanks do this, because the Gobmashine or what it is called will not bomb you there.

I do this when tanking and see tanks doing it when i heal.

It is a smart move, that you did not know - no AE to dodge, except for the one the mobs do.

Of course, this does not justify them throwing rants at you - but actually imo you did the mistake not the tank.

Just to clarify why I think he pulled them up.

I play War and Sch. I feel like the queue is pretty quick for War. Sometimes... I wait like one min or two. My wait for Sch might be 5 min. so far... so good.
