I don't understand what's so tough about it anyway can't they just hire a few GM's for the single purpose of finding and immediately banning the RMT's? Idk, have some algorithm that flags people sending over 200 tells a minute, then if the message is something like "Buy gil buy gil good luck 100% handiwol< guaranteed 5 minute real delivery" just BANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN them.
we can actually cycle through all the people who sent us a /t when replying. you have to use the hotkey combo. alt+r is the reply shortcut; just hold in alt and tap r until you have the name you want to send a reply to in the chat box.Not even just that, but the reply function is inferior to ffxi's reply....how can this even be when SE could've just copy/pasted the format from ffxi?
As it is you can /r type out whatever, hit send, and get "unable...character is on your blacklist", due to these rmt tells.
Can SE give us the ability to cycle through last several people who sent us tells like ffxi has?

You already can. I believe Control+R cycles through the last 5 or so people and Control + Shift + R cycles through the same people in reverse. Those may not be the correct hotkeys but you can change them to whatever you wish.
The default hotkey used for all chat channels involve the Alt key.
Sidenote, hands up every FFXI-player who ASAP changed it to Ctrl? =3 /waves hand
I also don't undersatnd why there would be GM available to handle players discipline (ie. ninja loot) while no GM to handle RMT tell ^^;
The spam situation has become intolerable, to the point that I've shunted tells to another window.
Here's what I'd like to see to improve the situation:
1) A separate spam blacklist that's different from the "I hate this person" blacklist. With more slots.
2) Auto-spam reporting. Right-click a tell, "report spam" would auto-send a spam report to SE and put them on the spam blacklist. Once a number of people spam a person, it automatically turns off their ability to send tells until a GM reviews and whitelists them if this was in error, which it usually won't be.
3) Level 1 characters should not be able to send tells or shouts. Seriously, it doesn't take that long to get to level 2 or even 5.
4) You shouldn't be able to send the same SHOUT more than once.
5) A "delete all in blacklist" button. I don't want to spend an hour deleting old probably deleted RMTs from the blacklist every two weeks.
And now they are slowly killing Shout/Yell channel. Come on SE. Do something!
@Dragonwings
I agree 200%!
1), 2), 3) were all implemented in Rift, and it made life much, much better. If one game can do it, then this one can.
I also have resorted to filtering /t from the chat log I use (custom 4th tab). I have even taken it a step further and turned off the sound alert for /t messages. I do still allow /t to come into my "general" log; I only flip to that log once in a while for the sake of checking if I missed a /t from someone other then RMT.
Personally I find it unacceptable that SE doesn't implement measures to combat this problem. Many suggestions have been made that would help but the problem continues.
Q: Why can't they implement limits on number of /t a player can send per minute?
Q: Why can't a GM have a character logged into game and ban RMT upon receiving /t.
Q: Why can't players have the option for a whitelist they can toggle on/off?
Q: Why is the blacklist only 200 players? This is too small with the amount of RMT.
Q: Why can't SE give an easy way to report RMT same as they added /blist option.
Q: Why not track the delivery system for millions sent by players named i.e.GHGGDDS.
Q: Why can't we even get developer responses to all of these questions?
I don't have the answers, of course. Why not act with simple changes? I have heard responses saying most suggestions are too extreme. That may be true but what about the reasonable suggestions?
RMT are a detriment to virtual society.
