idk whats with FF players crying about pvp so much, like they're afraid to get killed in a videogame. PvP to me is a much more enjoyable timesink than killing mobs that have scripted actions and animations. gets quite dull after a while. and theres nothing like being up against another player, thats a real test of skill. Only problem I see with it is the way the armoury system works. Everyone will have every single skill thats good in pvp, so there wouldnt be much variety, albeit it would be an even playing field. Open world pvp would be too much, unless it was voluntary and had to flag overt for your faction. Otherwise instanced pvp events would do nicely. dont be so afraid pve kiddies, we can have both, just like every other modern mmo. If this game wants to stand a chance with all the competition it needs to have all its bases covered. people want variety, not be limited to a single playstyle.

Well, to be fair, after FFXI's death penalty, some of the vets are hard wired to be afraid to get killed in a videogame.
