You are for underwater dungeons but against swimming? I have to say that a bunch of us walking at the bottom of the ocean is pretty bad ass. Swimming is for pussies
Since SE is trying to maintain a realistic sense of physics within Eorzea, it would be strange if you were able to swim normally while wearing 100 pounds of metal armor.

I am against underwater content ala wow/vashj'ir. Vashj'ir and the underwater experiment that wow did with Cataclysm was beyond fail in my opinion. I despised it in every aspect. However, I think having an underwater theme zone would be awesome. Think Sea Serpent Grotto except underwater. I don't really think swimming would be good. Swimming always favors ranged players and melee players feel disavantaged by it, having to position themselves on all axis for melee combat whereas casters only need to worry about a conal range.
I don't understand these posts.
Adding swimming pretty much means that they have to modify existing zones to remove invisible walls from lakes/rivers/etc, and to create meshes and textures for the underwater part of the map.
And you're saying that creating the underwater parts to allow for swimming won't work... because they're not already in the game?
Same thing goes for jumping and invisible walls/cliffs/fall damage/whatever.
It is also unsightly when, in some mmos, you can swim while wearing a full body of plate mail. I think it would be very becoming of SE to add in some physics that correlate with what gear you are wearing also a snorkel or some oxygen tank or something.
Did they put Gold subligar in game yet? i remeber they really wanted to add it and it was requested.
Sometimes, realism in video games is not a good thing.
The FF way would be spells and items for underwater breathing.
