you missed my point. in talking specifically about atma. atma is like getting your zenith for your weapon, hell they have the same stats. now if atma was a real stat increas then ok i would be more understanding. but it isnt all you get is a higher ilvl. in addition to being able to do the books.

As for atma not having any progress im talking time wise, im like you ive been doing it since release, but have burned out 3 times now doing it. But i still dont have my atma weapon, but to give you an example of why i have so much issue with this grind is that ok a friend of mine he had animus in the first weak of release and had enough time to grind out a second atma weapon in that time period. not because this is a test of skill or dedication but because he got stupidly lucky and was able to grind it out his first atma in the first 8 hours of patch release.

I got your point. Atma, however, is only necessary to begin the Animus questline. But as I said before, the weapons themselves aren't even necessary to have; people have been clearing things without the use of atma/animus, so why is "I NEED IT" really necessary?

Yes, it's sheer dumb luck that you friend was able to do that. But the point is he still went through the necessary steps to do so. As I pointed out before, I'm sure he wasn't just sitting around more donuts, shootin the shit, and then suddenly 12 atma just appeared in his inventory. I'm not excusing the RNG factor, because for as much as people complain it does seem like "bullshit." What I'm getting at is people just giving up entirely because it's "too hard." Everything has its own degree of difficulty (looking at you Titan EX ¬_¬ ). But if relic weapons are eventually supposed to be the best in the game, why should it be easy to get them? That's like going to Yale and actually putting in the time and effort to graduate versus someone "buying" their Yale diploma online.

People are just getting jealous of others who have, turning this into a whole haves/have nots issue. Why worry about what someone else has? Why not just be proud of what you have and what you've achieved for yourself?

In the end, if they don't nerf the drop rates, some people will quit because of that.

If they DO, then you might have some people quitting because the game is "too easy."

You just can't please everyone. And quitting the game over ONE SINGLE ASPECT of it is just ludicrous. If all it takes is that one thing to make you quit, then why are you even playing? Granted, I don't want to see people leave because it hurts overall sales/profits, which in turn has the potential to end the game as a whole. I love this game and the community I've been introduced to.

Simple fact is it's a completely unfair boring mechanic. Being too hard or easy has NOTHING to do with it, doing low level fates endlessly is outright BORING! And the fact that some get lucky and have to nerve to say the quest is fine is outrageous. And this idea "you don't have to do it" is nonsense. It's the only way to get something better for those not privy to the very end game content.f

I have played with worse grind then this quest and NEVER complained about because this quest is total crap.

And yes i have my animus, i did the so called "work". It's nothing but a boring time sink. Key word : BORING!

If it was boring, then why did you do it? I'm not asking out of some sense of snarky sarcasm, I really want to know why you did it, if it was so boring. Also, are you doing end-game content? If this is really the only way to get something better for those not privy to end-game content, then what's the motivating factor to even get it if they're not privy to end-game as it is?

To me, that sounds like someone getting a Nissan GT-R because it's fast, yet not even knowing how to operate it. What's the real point in it? I'm seriously trying to understand the reason behind all the reasons and excuses people have been coming up with.

    .
Some people could get it in weeks some days some a day..Some never. Take WoWs headless horseman mount as an example. Some people have been trying since i was released..STILL no luck. The same holds true for other things. It is NOT the work that is the problem it is that you could literally never get it if bad enough luck. RNG is problematic because of this.

Seriously? Its been proven time and time again that character progression is needed in order for people to stay playing a certain mmo. Without said progression, people will simply stop playing because there's very little to keep a person there without a feeling of advancement or "getting stronger". I've heard the argument of "if you don't raid, then why do you need gear?" more often than I care to remember, and it holds no more weight than the first time it was uttered. The relic reborn quest was supposed to have been the answer for people who don't have access to high end progression, so that they would have a comparable weapon that would be acceptable should they decide to move into progression.

My personal issue with the atma/animus part of the relic is the fact that I don't have much time (work and being a single father) and due to both, my schedule is erratic. Joining a static would be a juggling act, at best, on my part and a gamble on theirs. So personal progression through endgame content is confined to what's in party finder at the time, and admittedly slow when you're fairly new to the content(hit 50 after 2.2 dropped). So I have to rely on myth/soldiery gear and the relic weapon to progress. The problem with that being, the atma/animus part of the relic quest is such a timesink, it will literally take me months to get it done in it's current form, given my schedule. So yes, I am considering stopping payment on this game until the next patch hits (given the patch is casual friendly) since, in it's current state, the relic quest would take up too much of what little time I have.

To those who have persevered, I don't belittle your efforts in the least. Understand that there are those of us, however, that only have 4-5 hours a week to play, not day.

This is what I was looking to see. A legitimate reason behind the issue with hours. I'm sorry you don't have much time to play, but being a single father is far more important than a game. I shouldn't even have to say/write that.

It certainly seems like atmas weren't meant to be casual-friendly. Though this is due to the fact players complained there weren't any long-term goals in the game pre-2.2(5).
