I have a pretty far-fetched theory that Fafnir (the god slayer), last of the "low-tier" primals, will be summoned from somewhere near Silvertear lakes after defeating Ifrit, Garuda, Titan, Leviathan, Ramuh, Shiva, and the Crystal Tower. This summoning would ultimately be attributed to the Ascians in an attempt to kill off the Twelve, making way for Zodiark. (This is where it really stretches) We encounter Fafnir opening a portal to "Sky" where he would make his attempt on the gods should we fail to slay him. Upon his defeat, the portal remains open and we, the players, of course wouldn't be able to resist investigating what lies beyond. Appearing in this "Sky" zone we're confronted by the Twelve, under the assumption WE are to bring about their Ragnarok...<FFXI Stuff>...Zodiark = Kirin.
...One can dream, eh?
Just another wishcraft.
After dealing with most of the lesser Primals, you discover that Gaiss has survived the destruction of Ultima. Broken, he implores you to take him seriously, and sends you on quests that ultimately reveal the truth - Gaiss was right all along, the Twelve are no better or different then the Primals, and its your job to rid the planet of their interference once and for all.
Then again, I'm a huge fan of god slaying (Probably why I like Stargate and Dresden Files so much), so i'm sympathetic to Gaius right from the start.
Now that you've been sufficiently called on the carpet; your move, rhetorical, flatulent, fustian, gaseous, gassy, grandiloquent, oratorical, orotund, windy, bloated, elevated, florid, flowery, grandiose, highfalutin (also hifalutin), high-flown, high-sounding, inflated, lofty, ornate, pompous, pontifical, pretentious, stilted, tumid, turgid; overdone, verbose, wordy - BOMBASTIC.
You had me at Dresden Files. Didn't know there was another fan here.Just another wishcraft.

No. Lake Silvertear will be exclusively used for the revival of Midgardsormr. Which will be battleable in the new dungeon Ruins of Agrius.I have a pretty far-fetched theory that Fafnir (the god slayer), last of the "low-tier" primals, will be summoned from somewhere near Silvertear lakes after defeating Ifrit, Garuda, Titan, Leviathan, Ramuh, Shiva, and the Crystal Tower. It's entertaining to consider Cait Sith as the Qiqirn primal. Just think, a race of rat people worshipping a cat deity; pretty absurd, right?Originally Posted by Kicha

For a long time, I thought that the concept art of Fenrir was a sign it'd be added as a primal, but since Diabolos got the non-primal boss treatment, I'm not so sure anymore. As for the Goblins, for the most part they don't strike me as desperate enough to call a primal. On the other hand, the Illuminati might be crazed enough to try it. With their predilection for machinery, perhaps the addition of Doomtrain isn't as far-fetched as it may seem. Alexander, with its holy attribute and fortress-like form, seems like a natural fit for the Ishgardians, perhaps. Then again, their patron deity among the Twelve is Halone, an ice-related goddess. Pretty sure I've heard of another being fitting that description...
I can't find the post now, but somebody (I believe in the Lore forums no less) mentioned something I think I could see happening. Basically, the Primals drain Aether with their very existence, and Aether is the lifeblood of Hydaelyn. Then, it stands to reason that the Primals (or at least the Ascian method of summoning them) are being used by the Ascians to kill Hydaelyn.
But this is where it gets super interesting to me, because the world of XIV has a definite theme of Astral and Umbral, waning and waxing, light and darkness. If we consider that Hydaelyn is the source of our light, then isn't it also possible that draining her Aether and weakening her would bring about that "dark Hydaelyn" we saw in a flash of vision right after defeating the Ultima Weapon?
I believe that Zodiark is the Umbral side of Hydaelyn, and much like the moon, the mothercrystal waxes and wanes between light and darkness. The Ascians could then be seen as Warriors of Darkness, servants of the world much in the same way we are, yet working for an opposite end since they believe that Zodiark, not Hydaelyn, is the true nature of the mothercrystal. By using the Primals to bleed Hydaelyn dry, they're going to eventually weaken her to the point where her light fades and the balance shifts to Zodiark. At that point, much like a certain other group of Warriors of Light, our job will be to restore the light of the crystal...
Admittedly I haven't read every post but I didn't see mention of the fact the Crystal Tower and Binding Coil were part of the same overall system. Dalamud channeled aether from Bahamut and transmitted it to the Crystal Tower where the Allagans used it as their energy source. With this in mind I believe the conclusions to both Coil and CT will be linked in some way.
I have wanted to see this exact scenario put into the game since i first started playing in 1.0 lol There is no location i would love to explore more than that ship wreckage, could be such a cool dungeon
