Eh, sure. Timesinks aren't bad by default. So long as the player can play for a few hours and make progress then that's fine. None of this RNG crap where you can successfully do something over and over and not get rewarded at all. You could have just not logged on to do that, after all.

And, most importantly, whatever the timesink is should be enjoyable. I'd rather have to fight 12 big mean difficult atma guardians over grinding a random number of level 12 fates. Both could take a while, but only one is something most players would enjoy.
