    Duty Finder and troublesome players

I'm not going to use any names in this post as to who did this, but I just recently got into a "Hard Dungeon Roulette" for Pharos Sirius and ran into some problems with our tank. We started with the "hey" at the beginning of the dungeon, but two members didn't immediately respond until after the first pull. The tank then responds "I don't understand why some ppl cant answer." To which I responded that "it can be hard to type on the PS3/4."

She then immediately says "sorry but pls kick me," "I hate such lame excuses." saying that we have to answer a simple question right away and that everyone didn't respond with a "hey" or "hello" at the beginning of the dungeon.

Is this a thing now? This kind of behavior is toxic to the community and as it stands right now, I hope to never have to deal with this player again (First Blacklist I've done in this game that wasn't a gil spammer). I mean, it's nice when people respond and say hello at the beginning of the dungeon, but you do not hold that party hostage if they don't respond right away. The whole party did end up responding, but this person remained adamant that she wanted to be kicked just because she wasn't given her cookie-cutter "hello."

I've never experienced this and honestly would categorize it as an "isolated incident". That person who asked to be kicked probably is insecure and expects immediate reaction to their actions or they feel outcasted. Those other folks may have been in FC chat or Link-shells in the beginning.

I been seeing people that request to be kicked do so in order to avoid the 30 minute rage quit punishment.

You can edit your message to avoid the 1000 char limit.

I am using DF a lot every day and stopped communicating (even saying hi) due to people's attitude. I will listen to them first and then decide if it is safe to say something.
Today i joined Garuda EX and it was a mix of english and french people. MT asked if everyone know what to do - half of people did not answer. Then we wiped because OT didn't know where to pull chirada. MT asked OT directly if he knows what to do - OT answered something in french. One player started explaining OT in french what to do, but in the meanwhile MT said he hates when people ignore him and started a vote dismiss the OT for cheating (vote passed lol).
Somehow we get an insta replacement tank who became the new MT (having a better gear), but we still wipe because team is very new and cannot concentrate on feathers.
On the last try OT dies (he intentionally stood in the center when garuda did mistal shriek), i cast revive - he cancels it, 2nd healer casts revive - he cancels again, i cast revive without swiftcast - he cancels again. I ask why is he cancelling - he said he is doing it proactively because he would die again otherwise. Really i wanted to say "stay dead and don't ever dare to revive with that attitude". He went afk, vote dismissed, no replacement, disband.
In DF many people are just pathetic, so i avoid communicating until i know people in team are decent and will not say something like that. Queuing in DF i keep in mind i will get loud, rude, impatient and weird people rather then polite, quiet and experienced, so i try stay quiet.

Many people in DF do not respond to the good tone - they want drama and make a fun of others (due to boredom) and just need a reason to do so.
The less i speak - the less they will notice me and i will keep more reasons to remain silent when directly addressed. In such team everything i say will be used against me (like replying in a troll thread).
There are people with more serious issues like a feeling of being outcasted, but are rare compared to people who just want drama.
The way i worked out to make the team cooperating again is to direct their wasted energy towards solving a hard task such as completing a dungeon without a tank/healer (which is entirely possible), so they have to either start cooperating or leave.
I have no idea what to do if someone feels outcasted though. For some reason many people have an offensive style of speech (i blame american cartoons and social networks tbh) which many would not accept, so their communication attemps will fail.

When I run dungeons I always start with a "hey", I feel it is the polite thing to do. If people answer that is nice, if they do not well whatever.
If someone is new to a dungeon I expect them to tell me so, if they do then I will take it slower and explain things as best I can, if they do not I will not explain anything.
Seeing as I only select english as language when running dungeons I expect the people in my pug to understand english and communicate in that language. If they do not understand english and instead talk french or german then I am very likely to leave, I asked for team mates that can communicate in english and not someone clicking an extra box in order to get into the dungeon faster.

I'm on the PS3 and typing is a nuisance.

I'll generally respond to greetings and simple yes/no questions with emote actions. But otherwise, nothing. If my Husband is playing with me, I may route a response through him (PC). And unless necessary... I never bother responding to or acknowledging a rude player. They're just not worth the hassle. If they'd like to throw a tantrum or rage quit, I'm fine waiting for better company.

So far though, I've not experienced anyone take issue with quiet game play on my part in Duty Finder. Though I have read that some people penalize quiet players when considering commendations, which is unfortunate.

I seem to have offended players out and about by not responding immediately to personal chit-chat. Often I'd be in the process of typing a response when they get snippy and run off.

But over all, not worth fretting over. And there are an awful lot of kids (of all ages) playing, so the lack of decorum and sportsmanship isn't all that surprising when it occurs. And I have no issue playing with players who don't speak English. In fact, I generally prefer it.

Last week I had a tank quitting Brayflox because another DD has accidentially hit a mob that was following him to the spot where he wanted them grouped. The DD even said "Ooops, misklicked" but the tank felt into nerd rage and quit LMAO. This falls into the same category as quitting for not saying Hi. Some peeps........
