thank you exactly what i mean XD! leves shouldnt be the mainstream way of leveling just with me i think partying should and leves/behest/dunegons should be the easy to set up and easy to do thingsExactly why i like the idea of Leves, but they shouldn't make it the main thing to do. We have dungeons on the way and in my opinion, they should offer good SP from 25-35 at least, but then again, they may be changing the algorithms of how much sp is needed between ranks after removal of fatigue system.!
They could always use completing leves to unlock something bigger and better

wouldnt thier be better ways to unlock something? its not a good idea to try to force something currently useless to be usefullThey could always use completing leves to unlock something bigger and better

resources get re-purposed... its efficient
Ummm you're not describing partying. Partying is grouping up, that's what you do in leves, NM fights, etc. You are describing grinding the same mob over and over while you sit in one spot and kill the respawns for fractions of your level. This is the method of progression that was used in EQ1 and I assume FFXI. It's an archaic, unimaginative, and uninspiring system. No thanks, 2 thumbs down.
and grouping up in leves and nms to kill the same things every day and a half or 5 minutes is not just as unimaginative?Ummm you're not describing partying. the only diff between partying and leves is that partying can be done any time and thats the main reason im saying it should be the more important thing
Actually, before the game was released, I had first envisioned that the leve system would be something more like this. That they would work in tandem with traditional quest hubs, not just be over-glorified WoW dailies. They could always use completing leves to unlock something bigger and better

This would help foster progression, lore, content, and give us more goals than to just level for the sake of leveling in a repetitive environment. It's a brilliant suggestion, IMO.
I think that leves themselves, the way they are implemented now, are a very lackluster leveling backbone. They are horribly repetitive. I would love to see this kind of enhancement.
I don't see leves ever being removed as SE likes the idea. But why couldn't they go through a reinvention? It's not like we aren't already planning a redo on the rest of the game (battle system, classes/jobs, and map).

Could this be a good example of something other than leves? Perhaps some friendly competition?

At first, I really liked leves, until I started doing the same thing everyday. It got kind of boring, and started to feel like grinding. I wish xiv was more of a quest and progress kind of structure, instead of grinding 20 levels to do one quest..
