Atmas - Unfair for low level players

Telling others how to play is such a lovely thing that works both ways and gets you both nowhere.

The only "a**hole" is the guy that attacked you in chat for playing the game just the same as him.

Why would you side with someone who's got such a foul and outright hostile attitude towards other people? Honestly.

ATMA fates should really only be high level fates and not just 'any in the area'.

This is something I totally agree with. I know why SE did it this way (to have lowbie areas full of people for incoming PS4 players), but still. They're level 50 weapons. They should only be obtainable by completing level 50 content.

It is extreamely easy to level up so I don't see this as much of a problem, but at least there is more creativity in the atma-hate threads.

It's too bad they require you to have your relic equipped for the Fates... would've been better for SE to allow any level class to collect atmas once you've unlocked the quest. That way, you could still get some exp on another class and it wouldn't be a complete waste of time to grind Fates, not to mention everyone being able to do it at lower levels would help people doing Fates who aren't doing them for atmas since they wouldn't be getting burned through so ridiculously quickly.

on your first class, you can pretty easily get to 20 just by questing/hunting log/leves. at which point you'll have a chocobo and can ride it to fates like everyone else. and considering how pre-patch, many zones were completely barren for fate parties, i can only see this helping those trying to level.

This isn't the only problem with fates either.

It's becoming a pretty common occurrence for me that a fate gets in the way of content that I am trying to complete. When I was trying to get my base relic it was in a cave with a fate over the area that I couldn't complete on my own. The same situation happens all the time on my dailies and in some other areas of the game too. It needs basic features adding such as a 'reject' option so you can count yourself out of a fate, an 'auto sync' option that can be turned on or off would also be good for grinding.

In regards to OPs problem, ATMA fates should really only be high level fates and not just 'any in the area'.

Or did you not realize that a majority of the FATE(s) in the zones that have Atma are far below level 50 and make sync pretty much a requirement for... almost all of them?

Or am I one of those new players that finds the mobbing of FATEs I'm trying to enjoy highly frustrating? Since I'm nowhere near level 50, and don't currently feel a great desire to get there, I'm not really aware of what areas have what Atmas. Since they're level 50+ content, they should only show up in level 50+ content.

May I remind the end-gamers here that don't seem to find this to be a problem that, once upon a time, you were new to the game too?

I ran into this over the weekend. On one hand, I was able to get my SCH from 32-50 in no time due to following the ATMA herd from FATE to FATE. However, after dinging 50 I switched to level 10THM and holy shit. I was lucky to get EXP from one FATE per hour because they were being steamrolled so fast.

Why it was ever thought to be a good idea to have ATMAs in sub level 30 zones I'll never understand. All it does is make life harder for new players trying to level up. Yeah there are Guildhests, Dungeons, and the Hunting Log. But Duty Finder pops are slow as hell for DPS, and the Hunting Log wont get you to 50.

This ATMA Quest should have been kept 30+ zones, to ensure everyone doing those FATEs has a mount, and because those FATE's usually last long enough to give every player time to get worthwhile EXP from them.

To the folks talking down to new players troubles, come off your high horse. Newbies rule. Teach em well and they stick around and become good players.

To Add: On Sargatanas Camp Bluefrog, Mor'Dhona, and Caerthas have all died. No one does FATEs there anymore. It's all ATMA group chasing in Outer La'Nocea. I'd much rather fight Gorgimera or the Caerthas Ogre than the same four Kobolds over and over.

It's intended, as you admit, to help new people level. I would agree - FATE and Atma is a cop out for the people hunting the pieces to upgrade; but you titled your thread "Unfair for low level players".

Which it really isn't. It helps them out and gives them a very easy vehicle that requires very little skill or dedication to quickly level up.

I'm not accusing you of anything just trying to make sense of your thread and it's contradictory points.

If a new player is attacking you in chat it's a personal problem, and not a design problem.

@rmt argument, the drop rates would still be very low... it could also be argued ppl will RMT to buy Atma-power-grind services, ppl will pay for anything, it's not a very good argument.
