My friend just started playing this weekend. It was impossible to get a 2.5 second spell off during a fate to get any credit at all. They need to make ATMA drop from level 35+ fates only.

Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read.

What? It's intended, as you admit, to help new people level. I would agree - FATE and Atma is a cop out for the people hunting the pieces to upgrade; but you titled your thread "Unfair for low level players".
Which it really isn't. It helps them out and gives them a very easy vehicle that requires very little skill or dedication to quickly level up.
I'm not accusing you of anything just trying to make sense of your thread and it's contradictory points.
If a new player is attacking you in chat it's a personal problem, and not a design problem.
This isn't my thread. I didn't start it. We have some crossed wires here.
Or are you saying all us Lalafells look alike? o.o
Low level players?
Okay well if it's your first time building a character, then you shouldn't be doing FATES anyway, you should be doing story and quests.
2nd 50? Remember back when FATE grinding was the only way to level and everyone cried and complained that FATEs suck, and SE needs to fix dungeons and battle leves so we can level that way?? Now SE went in and did that, increase dungeon exp and battle leve exp, people stopped doing FATES.. so now suddenly this HUGE resource that SE thinks is their gift to mankind and the greatest thing since fire was no longer being used.. so they create ATMA system so people have to go run FATES, and now suddenly people want to cry that they can't level their characters doing FATES?
Go do dungeons, go do battle leves. They were fixed so we COULD level that way and we did change our leveling method to this.
Level's 1 - 15, hunting logs, and probably 3 or 4 battle leves and you should be 15. Then you do dungeons, which just doing the first 3 dungeons once each should get you to 19 or 20, then you add in the random low level dungeon exp and you should be 20 or 21. Then from their do hunting logs and dungeons all the way to 50. If you get to far ahead in hunting logs, then go do some battle levels (remember you get 6 leves a day, what else are you going to use them on?)
People need to stop finding reasons to cry.
THANK YOU! Exactly what I wanted to say all along reading these complains. It was merely 2 months ago when people were crying they hated grinding FATE in lower levels and now the argument turned into "lower level should be able to participate in FATE to grind!" I was a 1.0 player, when I started with 2.0 I started with a new class. At no point I needed to grind any FATE for EXP. Between doing dungeons, doing main story quests, hunting log I was over leveled most of the time when I was doing the main story quests. To the point where I purposely left some side quests undone for my next class.
Con't...
Mind you, I agree that new players should be able to participate in lower level FATES when they are doing quests in those areas, but when this initial crazy ATMA hunts starts to die down, it should not be too bad. I was running around with one of my lower level class yesterday doing side quests and once in a while do a FATE or two here and there, I've had no problem getting some EXP and participate. I feel that there is a lot of over exaggerating in this thread. Do we want new players or lower level to also enjoy FATES, yes we do. Has it become a huge concern and people are having a tough time leveling, no. If you're relying on FATE to level, you are trying to power level.
O___O oh dear lord.... I need to switch back... I'm having trouble identifying my own kind after being trapped in a Miqote body for so long.
