This needs to be fixed
Animation should not be the deciding factor of when your heal lands
This is bad game design
PvP is a beautiful example of this btw

For Swiftcast, I think the problem is the same as for Bene: supposed to be insta but not so much. Or better, the cast is instant, but if you cast the skill right after vs waiting a second it won't work. I learnt to wait a moment after casting it, between the skill, and it sucks.
Also...anyone getting swiftcasted skills interrupted? Swiftcast-Raise-Interrupt-lose swiftcast. Wut?
Wut??? How do you get a non-existant cast bar interrupted??? (since it was instant, lol)For Swiftcast, I think the problem is the same as for Bene: supposed to be insta but not so much. Well, being serious, you mean when you swiftcast and then cast a spell that goes into hardcast accidentally instead of being instant, and it then gets interrupted causing you to lose the swiftcast buff?
Fail... xD
I still think I prefer losing my instant cast due to that (since it was a buff and it got consumed). Than my CD when it wasn't successfully casted for whatever reason. This is SO wrong in so many ways (exaggerating some maybe), but SE really NEEDS to (so demanding) add way to get around this, whether check if the effect occurerd succesfully and then impart the cooldrown from there, or force the effect and the cooldown both (even if the tank took a hit after your benediction, heal him and count the heal after the dmg, maybe add a few miliseconds grace period after you cast the ability if you were .1 seconds late).

I think we need to put this on the front page of everything and keep bumping it. Benediction and Hallowed Ground both say instant cast times, but it indeed is not instant.
It should read as 1 second cast time. I'm tired of fail "instant" abilities that can not be popped off fast enough to be called instant.
How many times has bene and HG failed because you have to do a little dance before it pops off.....saving nobody....then proceeds to "cool down".
I think if it is "cooling down", then the ability should have worked right?
SE either needs to change the text on those "instant" abilities to 1 second, or make the abilities Instant like the text states.
Bumping this for truth, and to keep it on the main page. The responsiveness of this game's abilities are bar-none some of the worst I've ever seen. Won't stop me from playing though, but still...
After I started playing archer for awhile, I realized SE's sole purpose of a spell being "instant" is so that you can cast while moving. That's it. So really, they need to either just make it so all abilities go off at the beginning of the animation, or call them "cast-able while moving" or something. Adding a 1 second cast time to those abilities would just make them even more unusable, and completely break archers/bards (because the same fix would have to be applied to their abilities).
Recently I worked out its a "I am gonna have an oh shit momment in a few seconds" spell. In the time I pause to think that, I'm ready for the cast
Seriously though, I have stopped relying on it and cast it a little sooner than I used to, and adapted my use of it. If someone dies, a swiftcast + raise, and then I Benidiction them. Sorted. Straight back on the healing/DPS as required.
I don't find myself using it very much....but when I do, and it works, it is the mother of my healing palette.
I love it. If only it would work perfectly........
