No, I tend to use terms based on what they actually mean, not what I personally feel they mean.

The provision of careful support or guidance to someone during a learning process or a period of change:

it's just a circle with you. with this definition this is exactly what a parser is. support or guidance in a learning process (which rotation is better)

it's holding your hand by making you have to do less. you say being given the recipe isn't hand holding but you wouldn't even be able to attempt it without the recipe.

hand holding isn't a bad thing it's a good thing.
