it's simple i am proving it's all opinionated. you and i see hand holding and not hand holding differently.

people will accuse 1 thing of hand holding and another of not hand holding.

Videos and guides is hand holding, they are showing you exactly what to watch out for and what to do. I accept that I am having my hand held when I look up said videos, and so should you.

I'll accept that I'm looking up help, not having my hand held. An unskilled player can look up all the videos they want and still completely screw up the fight down to the basic mechanics. They definitely don't teach you everything and I'd argue you learn more from just going in and wiping repeatedly than watching a video, especially a wordy, talky piece like anything Mr Happy puts out.

I don't see how that (whats in bold) contributes to your argument of not having your hand held; I see that information as irrelevant. Sure its true, but irrelevant.

I think that's mostly because I see 'having your hand held' as something akin to Deadly Boss Mods; Shouting at you about mechanics, timers on the screen, auto-marking targets. It's not playing the game for you, but it definitely lowers difficulty once the learning phase passes.

I don't really view looking up guides and videos as having your hand held since, especially for videos, every raid comp is different and so are players. I can't recall a video to this date that I've followed to a T; always had to modify it in some way or in some case change it entirely.

Oh ok, that makes sense. I view hand holding as anything that shows the mechanics to a fight or the attacks the bosses does.

so a parser? it tells you exactly the amount you did. so it gives you the answer right? something else is solving the problem other then you. right?

No, the parser is basically a compiler. You still have to perform all of the analysis and whatnot yourself. It is just a time-saver.

Nope. A Parser just shows you data that's already there, nothing more. And as mentioned before, you can't always go back far enough to see a whole fight by just looking at the logs. A parser just alleviates that.

If it shows you a certain DPS you are doing, but you know you should be doing more, it doesn't tell you anything but you're doing less than you should be.

sounds like hand holding to me. but that's just my opinion. something else is telling you something you need to know.

(just for the record) i do find books hand holding i find school hand holding. you learn things by people holding your hand and helping you giving you the information you need to know, but in the end it's up to you how you use it, even know how to use it.

from what it sounds for you as long as you have to work even though it gives you something it's not hand holding. like the 50% hm bonus it gives you a boost but if you can't do it you can't do it. it's not a guaranteed win.

and i am being serious when i ask this is is that how you feel about hand holding?

because i am not argueing what is and is not hand holding just wondering what is and is not hand holding to you specifically (ispano and rea)
