I guess we could change them name of the thread to "Serious Guilds screw healers over Token/Oil Upgrades"?Being a martyr is part of being a whm
Btw in mmos that allows alloting gear.It has been very common for serious guilds to gear the dps first if they have choice. SE can choose to design their gear drops this way or make it fair like it was previously. Its not like this is a first. If you allow gear allotting for lockout raids then giving your dps the gear is optimal.
Always remember the Silver Rule:
"Treat others as they treat you!" ...or something like that.
Either way, it has nothing to do with the system itself. It's generally better to give player the choice of what to do with gear versus tying it all to RNG drop lists for individual classes.

I don't get this thread. You're complaining based on how your static deals with loot distribution. Will it possibly make a difference to have a dps do slightly more damage for phase shifts? Sure. I've learned to make sacrifices for the static, but nothing as big as passing up on superior gear. Soldiery items will make everyone gradually do more damage / heal more / have more vit. If you can't wait an extra week to clear content because you need that extra DPS, then I'm not sure what the problem is. It's a conscious choice to pass. If se gave everyone a token, they'd face roll through content at a much faster rate; what they DON'T want. If Blue garter was all i108-110, you know for a fact that they'd be half way to downing t9 by now. Making drops like this makes an artificial barrier to make content last, which is exactly what they want.
At least, that's my opinion.
i feel the systeme of the sand/oil is only a way to artificially lock the content for give people that do raid the feeling that they need to do this content for get better gear. sadly the point is valable. the sand/oil don't drop at 100% meaning if you group get 1 every week (if you are lucky) only one person every week will get an upgrade. let's just talk of the armor there, if you allows me:
head, body, glove, belt, pants and boots for 8 people. means you need 48 item... means if you are unlucky (and some was extremely unlucky with the loot in BC...some was only geting the same gear over and over and over. the sand/oil will be the only reliable way to upgrade your gear. but it will recquire 48 week for get the whole group with the item. juste saying the 2.4, the next tier, come in 23 week. let's hope that you will be lucky.
by the way, the 2.2 must be recalled: "luck fest"
Im not complaining about my static lol im complaining about the design change and the flaw of it. Which is how you can choose to oil upgrade your healer at the cost of it being inefficient for your group. Whereas previous everyone got highest tier at an even rate.I don't get this thread. Giving everyone 1 oil for clearing turn but even just requiring multiple is way better design.
But like its been said the oil system is primarily just to delay gear progression.
Good point. This is probably the reason SE made the new system. My point is just a side effect.i feel the systeme of the sand/oil is only a way to artificially lock the content for give people that do raid the feeling that they need to do this content for get better gear. sadly the point is valable. the sand/oil don't drop at 100% meaning if you group get 1 every week (if you are lucky) only one person every week will get an upgrade. let's just talk of the armor there, if you allows me:

What the hell? there is no 1 role better than other.
Healer needs tank and DPS to hold and kill the mob.
Tank Needs DPS and Healers to kill the mob faster while staying alive.
DPS needs Tank to hold the mob and Healer if they get hit,
I think IMO, MMO wise, gear should be prioritized > Tank > DPS > Healers. Static-ly speaking.
Healer gain the least from gears, its all about controlling usage while keeping everyone alive.
Goodbye, Final Fantasy...
Not really.Well you are still disadvantaging your group if you are oiling your healers up before your dps.
I'm healer and dps, close in ilv, though I prefer to main healer. And I'll need on healer loot and greed on tokens all I want. So its fair and everyone gets one.
As far as we know (and has been reported by those that has defeated T7/T8) the oils/sands/unidentified tomes drop 100%, but only one pre win. so is more of a planning thing. To whom do I give the unidentified tomes to make it easier for us to get next turn? thats what a static must choose, and in my mind the OPs priority is correct.
