Feedback Regarding the Relic Upgrade Quest

I have a theory. I have 4 atmas so far. Every Atma I have recieved has been when I have done a fate, either by myself, or with 1-2 other people. Every time I have grinded fates in a big group, I have never received one. I wonder if an atma is randomly given to one person for each fate, so the larger the group, the less chance you have of getting it.

This is just a theory. An unlikely one. I am one person. Has anyone else experienced or tested this?

I've been in a full group of 8 and seen 3 people get an Atma at once from the same FATE.

yeah just tested it myself and it didn't work. Guess it was all just a coincidence ^^;

Got most of them solo or with my chocobo, bad RNG is just bad RNG for a badly designed content wall that relies entirely on luck and not getting bored from pressing a single button over and over.

Honestly: I think it has some factor. I did it this morning before work when only about 5 people were in the area and I got 2 atmas in about an hour. The night before, I farmed with a huge group for 3 hours and didn't get one.

I'm really curious as to why we haven't seen a dev response to this yet. I mean, it's only the single largest current thread, but for some reason, the dev posts seem to prioritize things like Amdapor music, FC contest chokers, and that creepy/stalker Favour system.

Nothing to be curious about as they were easier questions to answer. There are larger threads than this with greater impact that have never been answered. At least your tone here is better than your thread that was removed.

Yeah, well, apparently SE doesn't take criticism well. It's getting old waiting for answers to important questions, only to see the reps respond to threads about things that don't affect playability. Great, we're getting a game system that lets players stalk NPC's. Any word on the Atma situation? No? Exactly.

Okay: I'm fine with GRINDING. I could totally be fine with doing 12 different boss fights 15x each. I would be fine with killing 10,000 trash mobs with my weapon equipped.

Why? I'd know I was progressing. I'd know that my 80 hours of farming are worth JUST as much as someone else's. But with the current system, there are a couple on my server who just hit 50 a few days ago and already have 11/12. I have always been on the boat for LONGER-LASTING and HARDER content, but the RNG is an awful choice. This is not a skill check, or a dedication check--just a luck exercise.

No clue if his theory is right or not, but I have noticed zones with very few FATEs seem to have higher drop rates for me. In a zone that has one fate for every five minutes of waiting, I normally get it on the 3-4 try. In zones where there are 5 FATEs going at the same time, it tends to take me hours, or even days.
