Make it happen.

I understand your concerns and I too would like to be able to explore old dungeons more tranquilly (hell, me and my friends would spend days RPing in Haukke Manor pretending it's the house we'll never afford XD), however there are a few things to take in consideration:
1: dungeons are on separated servers, and more than likely, the early ones are very limited. That's what the time limit is there for, you need to leave the instance to let another group go in. Maybe they aren't used much now, but it's how they were made and I don't think SE would modify them just for the sake of letting someone explore.
2: I don't think FATEs that "require some thinking" are the right thing for this game. Just think of FATEs as they are now. It's already almost impossible to get a bard with main aggro on the FATE NM to stop kiting so others can attack it too. "Damn those bards", some say, but why do bards do it? Because healers hardly spend any time healing in FATEs, favoring nuking with Cleric Stance, Holy and Stone II. "Damn those healers", some others say, but then there are tanks, who, fearing to not get healed, often times will not even try to lure the boss's attention.
Now imagine all these "mindset flaws" combined with a FATE that may require, I don't know, to place the boss in a specific spot (like the Facers in Qarn), or to interact with switches mid-fight (think of the Gil Turtle guildhest. I've had people in AF gear kill the turtle without even trying to read our cries to stop). As you can see, FATE is just the wrong activity to require 'elaborated strategies'. It's pretty much like Besieged in FFXI.

This game needs stuff like the op's idea

Agree this thread is about the hardcore & causal getting want they want.
SE can make this game playable for the people that only have 2-3 hours a day & don't wanna be left behind on end content, still giving exploration & open world content, having the game feel more dangerous for the hardcore players.
There's a way to make it balanced, fixing problems & improving area's or jobs as they go along. But it all needs to be in one thread making it easier for them to process & look through different ideas.
Open dungeons doesn't have to be a complicated thing to do.
I stated before once you complete a dungeon by doing a quest it becomes open & explorable. By walking through the main entrance.
Some areas don't even need to be a zone. The area on the map can just be expanded if it was possible for the devs. As your waiting for Titan EX mode in duty finder you could be exploring WP & you can call your minion or your chocobo.

I do believe there is away to get around it. And for it to work who said that it still needs to be on a different server?-snip-

Fates may not be the right way to go but i have a feeling that SE have got other ideas for these kind of fights that work differently to fates.

What ever happened to DoH/DoL affecting major cities with events?

The original plan for Frontlines PvP was going to include DoH / DoL to build things such as siege weaponry. With no announcements of Hamlet or this Frontline PvP feature, it's a safe bet to say DoH / DoL isn't going to be included in anything.Greetings,
There are currently no plans to add any end-game style content for Disciples of the Hand.
Once free company housing becomes a bit more widespread we expect the demand for furniture to increase, and as the maximum item level is increased, we will of course be introducing new recipes to create higher-level items.

The main thing that stands out to me here is currently no plans so that doesn't mean it will never happen. Which is cool we just don't know when or if it will happen lol.Greetings,

Cus newbie dungeon was too long comparing to dungeons in later levels. Still I rather have the full dunegon experience on my first go. Makes those dungeons more epic. I really hope they dont add extremes to crystal tower or coil. But it seems last boss of crystal tower part 1 does seem to have some extra platforms for another version of the fight.
