It's nice to hope but the problem with your theory is the price of housing. What it requires to save enough gold to purchase a house means your FC has a few high level crafters and gathers. So when you can make / gather all your own stuff why would you go and spend extra money at the Market to get these items? After you just emptied your FC's bank to afford your house do you think people are going to be in a big rush to spend more money or even have the money to buy vanity housing items?

If you think as more houses are purchased it will create a market for housing furnishings, then again by making the requirements for the housing so high you are guaranteeing that FCs will have their own crafters and gathers which negate the requirement for any need to buy these items from the free market.

Hamlet was a lot of fun as a DOL/DOH and could be done better in 2.0. Really is was terrible as you say was due to the fact of doing it over and over just to see if you could get one token.

Currently there are no plans to add any new low/mid level crafting recipes.
We designed FFXIV so that gear obtained from dungeons is more effective than crafted items.

For their first class, players can gain equipment from the main quests so we don't think they should face any problems. But we believe there are other chances to use low-level gear, such as creating materia or equipping them when leveling a second class.

Really? Free company housing items will be crafted by crafters in the free company. Very little (if any) will be sold on the marketboards. There won't be a 'demand' for furniture at all, seeing as how everyone will still be able to craft everything. Who is advising you on these things?

Ok so here is the problem with that. On Excalibur almost all Furniture is dirt cheap, If everyone who plans on buying a house in the future buys all their furniture now it doesn't help the economy.


One thing that will help is adding new Tome Items for new Gear that is relevant. ilvl gear that is worth using at "End Game". But I doubt that will ever happen.

You mean once there have been more than a couple dozen FC houses sold across all servers? FC house pricing is stupidly high, and I've lost all enthusiasm for single player housing because I dont have any faith that SE wont screw the Moogle on that too.
