I am just happy to have a dye-able acolyte's robe.
Are you forgetting what we did with Philosophy Tomes for the past 6 months? No crafter farms the Philosphy Tomes themself; it takes too long. He goes to the Market Board and buys them for 1.5 - 2kgil each. People will eventually cap their Myth Tomes in the same fashion and have nothing else to buy. After a few weeks well have tons of these new Myth materials on the Market Board (unless they can't be traded. Edit: None of the Myth Mats have "Untradable" label on them.)
Y'know, 9 Coke were 1,125 Phil Tomes right? It isn't much different.

Well at the Grand Opening of 2.2 everyone will have to farm their own Myth mats. Let the dungeon grinds begin once again!
Most i70 gear crafted gear was basically worthless anyhow. It's was useful for filling in slots when you had to go from an i70 two slot item -> i90 one slot item but only had one piece (ie: get myth healing body, and buy/craft a vanya hat to go with it). The extra hassle of crafting and then melding a bunch of expensive materia was absolutely not worth the trouble when you could just save up for myth gear that was easily superior to the crafted and melded stuff.
The ONLY exception was the crafted accessories. The reason is you could mix your primary damage stat (str, dex, int, mnd) with vit. Something not available on dropped gear. However, looking at the patch notes, there are no crafted i90 accessories. If that's true, then SE managed to make crafting even more worthless than before.
Good job, SE. Good job.
It wasn't worthless. melded i70 provided an excellent alternative to i90 on alt classes since myth cap and weekly lockouts WITH rng prevented you from just skipping right to i90. When it takes weeks to fill out one job, you need some alternative means to gear other jobs. Maybe not as well, but well enough to play in most content.. A fully melded i70 could clear most pre-2.2 content. (maybe not T4 and T5, but everything else).
Now myth is uncapped, but guess what, we got another cap, Soldiery. Coils 6-9 will also sport lockouts. So yes, the soldiery and coil 6-9 will be the new best gear, but it takes weeks to acquire for one job. In the mean time, the new saurean, cashmere, wolfram will be good alternatives to gearing all the other jobs in between.
The only reason to use any of this is if you need DPS and Healers to stack HP just like how it was done for early Twintania progression. Oh and vanity... yeah, legit reason.
Barely. Secondary stats aren't that powerful in this game. It's not worth the extra cost in the way that the accessories were, and I bet most won't bother save those few who have more time on their hands than good sense. It wasn't worthless. melded i70 provided an excellent alternative to i90 on alt classes since myth cap and weekly lockouts WITH rng prevented you from just skipping right to i90. The crafted helm, chest, boots, belt, gloves and pants already have all the VIT you can get for that ilvl. This only applied for crafted accessories.
There are no i90 crafted accessories, so this is no longer an option.
