A simple desktop notification (or flashing icon) would be a much better solution, also if you think about the bigger picture, if a deaf player is playing then the sounds are a none option.

Workarounds to your problem not the game's problem. There doesn't need to be a solution because it's not actually an issue.

You can also set your game to borderless windowed mode and shrink your internet browser so you can still see the game and watch for the notification too.

Granted this is also an issue for players who are both blind and deaf.
