    Mega Shin Tonberry EX will have "Square Enix's Grudge" and the only way to mitigate damage from it is to have more retainers. PF groups won't let you join unless you have at least 5 retainers.

    Or maybe you'll need to have played x number of hours, and his damage is mitigated by 1 per hour. Stupid play2win mechanics.
