    Tights are tights, but when men put them on they're called something else /confusion. They look good and functional when wearing them for outdoor activities in cooler seasons. They aren't any more or less silly than women wearing yoga pants everywhere all of the time. Folks seem to get grossed out at the thought of visible male bits when they think of tights, but decent tights, like women's tights, don't need to be this...outwardly descriptive (or they can be worn under shorts).

    I feel bad for the gay men who get lumped in with the gender expression topics, as very few that I know actually exhibit alternative gender ideals/dress.
