There's a CM post out there that went into detail about this.
The developers came up with Glamour first and translated it to Mirage Prism for the Japanese because it sounds like something else.

I don't think they're changing the name when they made it sound like it's the preferred label of the two.
Personally, I like Mirage Prism more but if the developers prefer Glamour that's their call.
In the end, it's simply an aesthetic choice that's entirely subjective.

I agree with this, it's just that "Glamour" is so boring.

Since yours is the most recent and apparently it needs to be reiterated...

    Glamour= name if the system
Mirage Prism= name of the consumable item

This makes more sense as Glamour (regardless of wether or not you feel the definition is "archaic") can be used as a Verb, Mirage or Mirage Prism can't and sound stupid if you try

(Funny enough I still have some Mirage Prisms in my bank from 1.0)

    1) I purposefully listed the name change as a "BONUS (OPINION)" because I think it'd be fine that they didn't change it... it's just my personal preference that Mirage Prism is a better name.

    2) I already redacted post 1 as I had a false impression, stop insulting about it; it happens.

    3) Are you all seriously debating the suitability of Glamour over Mirage? Honestly?? Both are suitable. And I'm not whining.

    4) A male can care for fashion without being effeminate or of the opposite gender; also it doesn't make him less of a man to care not to wear earrings; three, I'm not insecure in my masculinity because I don't want to wear a title that generally holds a female-connotation in Western Society, nor does it mean 'feminine things' are bad.

No, because you have already a headpiece through the hooded robe, that you still wear

The unlock quest is at level 50.
It would be like with dyes, materia and companion. Once you did the quest with a level 50 class to unlock it, you get a command icon and can use it with every class at every level.

Some may disagree, but I already feel forced into too much femininity in the game already.
Really? You're so insecure in your masculinity that you have to complain about a spell being called "Glamour"? Man up, bro.

People want to be able to replace some items that take up two slots, like hooded robes or the stovepipe armor, with the appearance of gear that takes up only one slot, but have appearance slots for both of those slots. Otherwise, the result is that you appear to have no head gear equipped and can't have any appearance in that slot.

Actually, that's exactly what it means.
