What i read it's token based?

Something about the item being consumed? Let's hope it's not a hassle to get, i believe some people will spend the first 5 hours of 2.2 glamouring/Aesthetician up before thinking "Oh yeah there's Leviathan and a whole lot of other stuff."

What happened to 2 and 3?

There is always the choise between 1 slot gear and 2 slot gear. If you don't like it, take the 1 slot gear.
As example instead to get darklight, get CT armor. Or the new crafted 1 slot ilevel 90 gear.

unless i misunderstand, turning a hooded robe into a body robe and not being able to equip head gear seems reasonable to me. If you could turn a hooded into a body and still equip head seems like it would be unfair, allowing you to equip extra stats you otherwise wouldn't be able to.

    again. maybe i just misunderstand.

    .. I like "glamour" o.o

It fits with Final Fantasy XIV's archaic style. They don't mean the modern, feminine connotation; they mean the old, fey 'deceiving enchantment' sense. Which is why I'm not bothered by the name in the least and will be awfully sad if they change it to something less old and mysterious-sounding. Also, 'western' connotation? The pre-fashion meaning is Western, older, and basically more legitimate! The 'feminine connotation' still refers to making someone look more beautiful or simply different to how they'd otherwise be perceived - IE: an illusion. A glamour cast through the use of mundane items rather than magic.

.. Sort of don't care about the body and head slot thing either way, though. I mean if anything that change sounds kinda screwy.. aren't the body-and-head-occupying gears balanced to take into account the lack of a headpiece's stats?

The world glamour has been used in Western pen and paper RPGs to describe small effects that alter perceptions for DECADES now. Get over it. If it makes you feel too girly, don't use it, or purchase some Cootie Repellent from your local neighborhood 1st grade boy.

Only thing that flat out sucks about it is not being able to use it with Odin Armor. Maybe they can have a NPC that can break it down into separate pieces if you hand it into them. Seems a damn shame to have to keep such badass looking armor in storage.

    Actually, they do. Somewhat.

I'll give you a very easy example with the very high chance of making me look like a pervert:

On female, if you don't wear any body armor that covers the legs (such as, Coliseum Shawl of Summer Halter), Healer's Culottes will look like an underwear with a very mini skirt

If you wear something that covers the legs, such as Santa outfit, the miniskirt will be lost, leaving only the underwear
    --------

For something that doesn't make me look like a pervert:
If you wear the Santa outfit, whatever is on your HAND slot will be replaced by the mitts, regardless if you actually wear the mitts on your HAND slot. The HAND slot is not occupied by santa outfit

I don't know the exact implementation of this system. There are a few ways they can do this:
    1. They have an actual priority system such as Elder Scrolls' whatever has the highest priority point in a certain slot will be rendered, such as the Santa mitts case

    2. They actually have separate models that has conditionals when to render, maybe the way they do it with female Healer's Culottes

Whatever it is, they do have a way to render something on a slot that it doesn't occupy.

As for hooded robes not getting access to glamouring the head, it's obviously because you don't actually have anything on your head. The multi-slot-taking equipments were made with the occupied slots' looks already implemented. The looks are tied to the equipment, not the slot. Maybe they can try to have an item capable of having two glamour entries, but we are yet to see it.

The cowled robes are fugly. Thank Byregot that they are usually low-level or easily replacable. Anything beyond Darklight only occupies one slot.

Odin armor not being available is indeed a shame. Vanity is the only actual reason to get Odin's equipment. The stat sucks, it unreliable to get, and it consumes so many slots

Eh think of it as Glamour in terms of magic. In 1.0 there was a quest involving rescuing the Sylphs' stolen podlings and they placed a Glamour on you to make you invisible to sneak you through Moonspore Grove.

It's actually a little disturbing that you're associating the word only as "female connotation".

Some may disagree, but I already feel forced into too much femininity in the game already.
Screw that, I'm fabulous and I want everyone to know it.
