They should add gear that is high level but has different kind of stats than the one provided from ct. Like for example if the ct version has high vit give a craftable item a high strength and less vitality.

Basically equipping gear should involve choice to begin with. You can still keep the ct variant as the optimal version for that job but at the same time make the crafted gear non-useless.

The mats of these end-game crafts should be extremely rare to make buying them a long-term goal.
