    You know that SE has experience with MMO, alone thanks to FFXI and also 1.0

    What people loved (and hated) in 11: you had so much good gear to chose from. Some crafted items were better than drops, others were worse. Some just looked neat, others just looked hideous.
    What people hated that some of the crafted items were ridiculous expensive, not considering that a Sheikh mantle means the one that made it invested a LOT of time to get the crafting job high. If I didnt want to wear Armor X because I thought it was ugly, I could get another one that was close to the stats I wanted (and in FFXI stats at least meant something)

    Now it seems like SE is new to the game market: "Why would people want to make their own gear? Just farm Titan HM and EX! It is WAY easier than getting a crafted item"
    Go grinding dungeons so you get enough tomes we limit you on. And you get GEar that has stats that do nothing favorable (Skillspeed)


    Like it is now crafting is a past time activity, and I really wonder how people make money with it, the market seems rather saturated on my server

    Hardcore crafters like me.

    When I look at that piece and it's got my name on it, that means I didn't just level 1 job and spam dungeons to buy my gear. Nope. I leveled mutliple crafts, took my time, worked my butt off and made my own s*^%, thank you very much. Some of us take pride in that.

    I feel bad for crafters, reading this thread it would seem they are playing the completely wrong game.

    Crafting should only ever reach end game heights in 1 player games. In a game like FF14, where thehealth of the game depends on people running content to improve, and depends on said peoples determination to learn the content and succeed at it also, what sense does it make for end game standard equipment to come from crafting? Which doesn't require skill and doesn't require to participate in the content.

    If crafters could make endgame gear, thus becoming self sufficient in an mmo, the mmo would pretty much die. Players should never have self sufficiency in an mmo, especially with something as brainless as crafting.

    is it not enough making a little bit of gil? Or making really good equips when u make a new class? Or being able to skip darklight and gear up with vanya/gryphonskin? I really don't think crafters are short-changed here.

    I don't think crafter's should be making end game gear either since it a vertical progression on gear anyways. But crafter's should be used in away for end game gear to provided a horizontal progression like able to unlock two materia slot and attaching job specific materia would add depth to the system imo.

    Sessurea, I think the point is that we crafters want our crafting skills to be useful in the game. For now, it doesn't feel that way, but we have a slight glimmer of hope.

    They should add gear that is high level but has different kind of stats than the one provided from ct. Like for example if the ct version has high vit give a craftable item a high strength and less vitality.

    Basically equipping gear should involve choice to begin with. You can still keep the ct variant as the optimal version for that job but at the same time make the crafted gear non-useless.

    The mats of these end-game crafts should be extremely rare to make buying them a long-term goal.

    I bet they will bring craftable gear equivalent to myth gear soon( like crafted gear atm is equivalent to DL ).

    Having equipment of that standard would promote RMT and p2w, unless it was untradeable.
