Why is Crafting still in the game?

We are getting new recipes in 2.2, but alchemy is not being more any more efficient with their potions making Alchemy next to useless.

I haven't made very much gil off of Potions since they are practically useless.

I made several million selling mega potions. Many people buy these. If you care about maxing your dps you buy these it is like having an extra cooldown. Hardcore players buy these and they sell fairly fast.

My top selling crafting items are, food, mega potions, 2 star rings, and base relic weapons a few months ago.
