If they are off by a member, they'll recruit. Continue this process and not only are more people in your FC getting into content, but you are building a community that allows group members in the FC to swap around teams more easily when people aren't around.

I could argue that those unwilling to break away from statics are the selfish ones. Not that I don't understand, but I could play devils advocate.

I got burnt out over this game a while back and wandered off to check out other games. Recently I decided to come back again and first job was to complete my 8 crafting classes. One day I decided I would play a lowbie character to go farm some items I needed, I was amazed that a map that used to be filled with groups 24/7 doing fates could barely muster up one fate group. I hopped on my main char and started wandering around other maps and it was the same story everywhere. I asked a friend who was still playing *he has since quit* how do players level these days and he said dungeons and leve quests.

I'm about to start struggling trying to level up other classes and I can see it being a long and drawn out process because the lower level maps are empty. This game has loads of potential and the game isn't at fault for players faults and attitudes. Gamers these days want everything now and if they aren't entertained 24/7 and everything isn't as easy as sliding a knife into hot butter they just aren't interested. Not a common game I know but I remember back when in the distant past I played Maple Story and I needed 600M to go up one lvl and 6 billion to go from lvl 199-200 and we didnt even blink an eye we just did it. These days if you cant max level your char in a few days the forums are filled with people crying the game is grindy

Its probably already been mentioned in this thread and I'm not going to scour through 10+ pages to verify it but...

Even though ffxi had content that capped out at 60+ players, you were not required to have a full alliance to attempt content. Things might be different if you could low man content in ffxiv.

ITT: People trying to justify 'statics' so they don't have to fail coil runs.

Weak sauce. The very idea of a static and the players are ruining FC's for them. Who needs lack of content, when the players can't manage themselves?

    Sounds like a nice FC!

I never played WoW, but I can see this. The FF franchise has been going a different direction. Ever since FF7 became a hit it seems like.

I really hope this game does get fixed. I remember how exciting it was when I started FFXI, and I ended up sticking with it for 7 years. I have so many good memories of it.
I want so badly to enjoy this game. It just needs to get back to its FF origins and not the way of other series.
Maybe it's because I'm more connected with the classic games (FFV/FFVI), but the new set-up was very jarring for me and not what I wanted or expected in an FF game. FFXI still felt like an FF game to me. I loved it.

I scroll through my friend list sometimes to look for something to do and see a lot of "deleted" accounts, not knowing who it was, and where they went or why.
A deleted name is one of three things:
    a) Transferred to another server.
    b) requested the account be closed permanently
    c) got banned

Out of those, A and C will be more than likely since most people who quit a game aren't going to take the time to call up SE and ask them to close the account. They will just stop playing.

If it was A then that person didn't quit, they just moved. If it was C than more than likely they were cheating in some way and that to me is better than them still playing.

Totally agree with the OP 110% Endgame is something that should be enjoyed by all the members of your FC not just the select few!. The only way they can combat this is by open world content. Cramming everything that's good About endgame into an instanced 8 man set-up is just bollocks!. Yoshi P really needs to listen to the "Majority" of the fan base here and address the endgame. I understand he been limiting what we can loot because he didn't want us getting too far ahead of the new player base that will be starting on the PS4!. But for the life of me once it's released please stop these damn loot lockouts..(AND PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, STOP!!!..MAKING ALL ENDGAME SO LINEAR!.)

I don't know how this game became such a screw up!. All Yoshi had to do was make another FFXI but with less level grind. For me that was the only "Chore & grindy" part about XI. Everything else worked just fine, we had to WORK for our drops & when we got them we we're damn PROUD to wear them. The drops also had lastability.

I'm still sticking with this game I said to myself I'll give it a year to give it time. I'm a massive FF fan but at the moment it's hard to love this game, I'm really hoping for a Change of direction from this director, I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed!.

I miss the old fate leveling. I mean really do we suddenly have less "noobs and people who do not know thier job" because of breaking fate leveling? I have yet to see a difference.

Your C is incorrect. If you get banned, your character remains stored in purgatory. Your name will also be permanently locked for eternity, it will forever be locked down.

And I would argue that if you put your idea into practice and there are two weeks in a row where the 4 people you bring with you are slow learners or are not skilled, you will start to see a great amount of unrest among your original static members.

Your sentiment is great in a world where the probability of things going smoothing is high. We all know that isn't the world we live in.
