    I dont feel the issue is DRG vs MNK, when you could just bring both. The issue is the unwillingness of the community on NA servers to bring more than 1 melee for more or less no reason from a tactical standpoint. Outside of rare encounters like T4, where you are encouraged to bring 2 mages, there is no reason to stack 3 ranged.

    Surely you want a bard in everything but i dont see why you would need 2 mages or a second bard. Even the DF prioritizes the groups to have an even split of ranged and melee dps.

    Long cooldown. For example, when you use it to open on Titan, it's not back up in time for the Heart transition. In the example of Ifrit, there's no way you'll have it after every time he does the dashes.

    It is indeed good for that purpose, but strictly limited. If they reduced the cooldown on PB, I think even that might go a long way.

    This is true to a certain degree. I agree that the most sensible setup is PLD, WAR, WHM, SCH, DRG, MNK, BRD, BLM/SMN. That said, a lot of content in game doesn't quite lend itself to such a setup. Looking at how the jobs are balance now, it feels like the devs had that above type of team balance in mind, but at the same time they design content that promotes different setups.

    I concede, however, that what you're saying is a strong contributor to the observed imbalance.

    Very heavy-handed here. That would make MNK OP in a flash. A simple drop in PB cooldown would be sufficient so that MNK's are able to regain GL3 more frequently.

    2BRD = Requiem (almost) all the time + songs when needed. 1 BRD = Requiem sometimes and they need to keep an eye on their mana. 2BRD = easy silence for T2. 2 BRD = easy mobility. And since BRD is the easiest class to play, 2BRD = usualy less fails.
    BLM/SMN and BLM/SMN = requiem more efficient. SMN = mana song even more efficient. SMN = one more pet for T5. 2BLM = sure slow against knights on T5. BLM/SMN and BLM/SMN = better AOE's.

    I don't see why you would need 2 melees when you can clear he game easier with more rangeds. Don't get me wrong, we are raiding with a MNK AND a DRG, but some fights are just way easier without any melee. Garuda EX ? Chirada can live. Titan EX ? No danger of having a plume not stacked. Ifrit EX ? No need to put more pressure on the healers when they have to switch during nails.
