Ifrit EX and future content

I hope SE reforms their enrage method in relation to DPS.

I'm sure other people have experienced this on other fights if you have a lot of DPS.

For Example, Ifrit EX will enrage and hellfire at a certain % of health if you DPS him down during the 13 nails phase. We were running 2 SMN's and the DOTs several times would bring Ifrit to a point where he would enrage and hellfire and kill us before we had a chance to kill all of the nails.

First of all, please just make it invulnerable if anything. (for future content)
Second of all, the idea of having too much DPS but not being able to utilize it all is just stupid and should be revised.

Just one more mechanic to know, I guess. I think having mechanics where you need to think and not just stomp on the accelerator is not a bad thing. On Ifrit EX, the important thing is the nails. Kill those and the rest is cake. No need to hurry.

Would this just because having 2 SMN are just a bit too slow on the nails? No offense to SMN and I know having 1 SMN in that fight is the same as having any other dps if not better. But 2 SMN may just not efficient enough because they can't just put dot on all the nails (in case they all blow up within a short period).

I didn't know that the enrage mode also triggered by the HP left, but if that's really the case, it also should be SMN's responsibility to watch their dot and make sure not too many are left just before the 13 nails phase. I mean I'm sure you can have 2-3 dot on him at that point and be fine, and you don't really need to put 6 fresh dot on him just before the 13 nails.

In my party sometimes we kill it just after hellfire before he can jump to do hes rushing attack and we have never experienced that issue, and hes really low on health when that happens.

100% fact that if you hit Ifrit below 10% during the final phase he will hellfire and kill you. The reason its in the game is so you can't ignore the last set of nails and burn him down. Groups with high dps can easily get him to 10% with multidoting.

I was tanking in a party with full i90 DDs and literally 15 seconds after he spawned the 3rd set of nails he teleported and wiped us with Hellfire. Definitely annoying, and a very real issue.

No its strategy if you hit him below 10% where he will hellfire. Its doing the mechanics of the fight correctly. There is no need for smn to multidot him because it hits him below the threshold where it will kill you.
