Even in the midst of their cynicism people STILL bank too much on single patches. I know we're all very impatient and really want the game to become something we'd gladly hand over our cash to experience, but you all have to realize this doesn't happen with just a single patch. There is no quick save. It's something that comes with time. I know just saying this won't stop people from expecting the world by tomorrow, but it's still just remarkably unhelpful to have that mentality.
But is it helpful and right for people to keep making excuses for the developers? They set up the expectations to an extent. Do some people go overboard and hype themselves up too much, yes. But you cannot place the blame solely on the playerbase. The development cycle for the game was long, it was the companies choice to release it in such a state and for that they open themselves up to criticism. It was SE's choice to cut beta short and release early. They are not following through on their own time tables that THEY set up, not us. They are also not following through on smaller promises like new quests with each patch.

You cannot blame only the loud forum people for their cynicism and bad word of mouth. SE did develop the game...seeing as we are still playing many of us are still holding out for hope, but this is also SE we all know since the merger they haven't exactly had a good run with producing quality product and fulfilling promises.
