    I personally don't mind how fishing is now. I just wish you could make -some- gil off it. Or that it had some nice endgame stuff to do (like 10,000 moat carps for lu-shangs)

    Good news for you then. Fish several thousand times at various locations throughout Eorzea and you can obtain a Luminary Rod.
