Does tanking carry more responsibility than most?

Tanking carries more responsibility since usually when the tank fails the repercussions are far more severe than for any other role. In most fights if one or two dps dies they can be easily ressed without it really affecting the outcome, hell, I've killed Ifrit EX where ALL dps died after 3rd set of nails because they all failed the plumes. Healers ressed them and we killed it.

Usually tank failing means the whole party wipes. In most fights losing a healer or dps really isn't that big of an issue and you can easily recover.

Whatever floats your boat, really. Ultimately like I said previously, it's team work. There is indeed stress on tanks. I play PLD alongside my main BRD but I never thought that I have the most responsibility in the team when I tank. If I have screwed up healers or DPS, the battle is never won anyways.
