The Events IMO

To be completely fair though: if you consider a minion useless then,
Mounts are just as useless (typically by just playing you will eventually get a chocobo, and the MQ ends with a mount as well)
Weapon glow is useless
EXP potions / Stat Food while not useful, I think is already given in at at least some of the events
Special Dyes can work but overall still useless.

I mean nothing they can actually give will have any real use because they want events to be about fun and games, not something you feel you must do. Also, having spent a lot of time with the Brewfest to get a Brewfest Ram (Got a Kudo tho) I would rather not...have dailies for limited events...ever.

My only problem with these events are the ones that use FATEs.

I did the Lightning one only because I wanted her gear for when Vanity comes out. I didn't touch any of the other FATE related events.

Well i never really enjoyed any final fantasy.
But i like this one because it's a MMO.

I hated how WoW had top level only event content, it excluded everything that was low level (you couldn't even switch weapons and use a different class either).

The way FFXIV has it is fair for everyone, get a minimum level and you can complete the quests. Why would you want top end gear from an event? That would be giving free hand outs, oh OP, you must be one of those instant gratification kids... never mind.

I like the minion and I can't wait for the cherry blossom earrings. A lot of us also enjoy the lore. ^^;

I think they were referring to how long the event lasts.
