I'm not afraid of casual because i AM a casual and what I am afraid of is to be left behind because i don't have enough time to grind. With all the gaming hours given to me, i'm not even full 90, so the gap will only increase if they don't cap something, the casuals will be left behind because they will still have to get to 70 to be able to get to 90. But now, they have to do 70 -> 90 -> 110. The time to be able to enjoy engame for casual will increase if there is no cap to give em time to be on the same page as endgamer and have the same fun.

Bottom line, how can casual feel sentiment of accomplishement when they have JUST reached ilvl 90 and SE says, no, no this is all for nothing, continue the grind forrrreva.... I know this is how MMO works and you gotta give those hardcore gamer some meat to chew on but give some kind of accomplishement to casual too

Gonna get old at an exponential rate.
People have been playing WoW for 10 years and continue to do the same crap. I imagine as long as people are having a good time in this game they'll deal with vertical progression.

At least they're making their design philosophy clear 6 months into the game rather than in FFXI when you're subjected to the shock and horror of your last 8 years of progression being invalidated over night.

I think the important thing to remember is that anyone who had at least a moderate desire to cap myth and get geared, even if they have never done Coil, is probably i90 or close at this point. I know for a fact that it is possible for people to have full mytho sets for a single job at this point without ever having set foot in Coil.

So the only people who DON'T have one job @ i90 (or multiple in the 80s, like me), are the people who weren't capping myth anyways, thus wouldn't break 450/week post 2.2 . . .

So, what? You don't want people to have alt jobs @ i90 because.... nennuhhgg?

This is just a shift in the positive direction of the X axis on a linear equation. The value of gear relative to its accessibility is going to remain roughly the same, except that there are higher barriers to entry on Mytho gear because you can farm it at roughly 25-40% the rate that you can farm philo.

If you value hard-core things as a casual player you will never get a sense of accomplishment as long as your time is limited to "casual" in your own eyes. Your resources cannot meet your goals. I'd say a nice goal would be for a casual to get to i90 before they increase the iLVL cap. Anything above that... you'd have to put the hard core time in, that's how it works.

    You have one month.... GO!!!

You were never a "casual player" to begin with. True casual players log on for various reasons, most of which has nothing to do with subscribing themselves to a daily grind. Casuals derive their own enjoyment and sense of accomplishment working at their own pace within the game doing various things outside of the scope of difficult dungeon runs. That might mean logging on for a couple of hours to level up a few times, or log on to craft or farm materials. The casual player will also do difficult dungeons or battles for items, but it's not their top priority with each passing day, unlike a loot gear-oriented hardcore type of player.

I want people to know the difference between tome and tomb. Then I'll bother them about grammar, :P.

Exactly. I'm pretty sure the casual demographic isn't even that far past ilvl 70 yet, and if they are getting myth, its certainly not enough for a piece of gear every week.

I would say the majority of people are ilvl 90 on 1 job. If you look around say mordona you see a bunch of people with full ilvl90. With the myth change we can gear up everything to 90 if we want in 2.2.

Nope. You could get full ilvl90 without even touching Darklight or Crystal Tower gear.... AK/WP and all the hard mode dungeons give myth tomes. None of those require you to be ilvl70. Yes ilvl70 gear will make it easier to farm but its not holding anyone back, And to further this with Myth caps gone it makes all ilvl70/ilvl80 gear obsolete. Relic gear is the new Darklight in 2.2. So everyone better to be ready to see ilvl90 only for everything.
