Why is Coil the only dungeon with a good, unique battle theme? Granted it's another remix of "Answer" but it's refreshing and surprisingly well done.

Or make it that the battle music sound like the dungeon music, only a bit different.
Like "The Dark's Embrace" and "The Dark's Kiss"
Either bring back 1.0 style music or just get rid of it lol. How many FF games have you played without looping dungeon music for example? :l Sure everything gets repetitive after awhile..but the reason its grating here is for example Pharos Siruis was the perfect chance for them to do dynamic music.
And they wasted it.

FFXI actually was the same - a lot of overworld areas and dungeons had no background music at all, but just a simple wind sound effect (like the Maze of Shakrami and the Valkurm Dunes). Granted most areas like that were actually areas available in the original game - areas and dungeons added in expansions tended to have proper BGM - but still, a significant potion of the game's areas had no BGM at all.
And I used to get irritated hearing the same BGM and battle music over and over again in FFXI too - hearing Battle in the Dungeon #2 and Yuhtunga Jungle for the umpteenth time now makes me want to hurt the first taru I see. >< So I'm actually glad Soken did things this way in ARR, even if it isn't a popular choice.

At least those tunes were catchier though.
I don't care for the default battle themes in ARR (open world and dungeons). They could at least bring back some of the 1.0 tracks like Nail of the Heavens.

Ironically enough, for all the hate it's been copping, The Promise of Plunder was a 1.0 track as well (it was originally the open dungeon battle theme). But yeah, I'd love to hear some more 1.0 battle themes (The Forest's Pulse especially.)
I don't mind the default overworld battle theme though - the Coerthas variation is my favourite. But then, I guess as usual I'm in the minority here.

I wouldn't mind Pharos Sirius looping that music is awesome plus it set the mood for that dungeon , plus looping isn't annoying.. we all played Zelda and super mario.. they loop and we still pop to the tune.. even after 20 something years lol... it they made it like Answers from when the servers were coming down with a a light fainting music every once and a while it would be cool too
turning of music is stupid all you hear is foot steps dmg dealt and what ever that's not in the background music

That's specifically why i'm sick of it.Ironically enough, for all the hate it's been copping, The Promise of Plunder was a 1.0 track as well (it was originally the open dungeon battle theme). But yeah, I'd love to hear some more 1.0 battle themes (The Forest's Pulse especially.)

I heard enough of that in Shposhae in 1.0 and the Alpha/Beta/Release for 2.0 and now my daily roullets.
(No thanks) ;--;

I know it would likely never happen, but I'd totally back a kickstarter project to get dual track music in every dungeon in Final Fantasy XIV, as well as get unique final boss themes for each dungeon. Siren totally deserves better than what she got given how good the intro music was.
Seriously, I was like "Oh man, this dungeon has the best sound track ever!" and then about a minute later, "this theme again?!"

Absolutely. I mean, the music is incredible in certain areas like Raincatcher Gully in La Noscea, and Rootslake in South Shroud. The thing is that it's too short, and I am literally wanting the tune to continue, to expand on the melody like a longer 4-5min loop as opposed to 60-90sec interludes everywhere. In effect the shorter tunes would probably wear out on you even quicker! Guess I'm just used to having more in the way of BGM and no, I don't think people should be inclined to use other sources of music due to a lack of variety. Unless you're doing many, many fates in the same area, then it could get quite monotonous. But that's just me....
