The argument could be made that the ps3's capabilities (ram, etc...) severely limit the games potential for expansion. Seriously man use your head.
Limit the games potential for expansion in what sense? expansion of profits? because if you think A Realm Reborn was greenlit for any other purpose you need educating.
The PS3 is static hardware, and this MMO will likely run for more than 10 years. So anything they want to add 10 years from now will have to be able to run on PS3. So the size/quantity of content could end up being limited by it.
People aren't just concerned for no reason. This very situation is playing out in FFXI. The FFXI devs recently added an option to toggle display of people's armor, not so you could pretend you're wearing X-Ray specs and see everyone in their underwear, but because the PS2 can't handle displaying all the armor in the game. They are constantly having to spend time trying to make it so any new thing they add doesn't set PS2s on fire.
That is not an issue with ps2 and nothing the PC has/does has anything to do with the ps2. If the ps2 can't do what they want they can change the models... Just like a graphic mod for any other game.
You people need to learn how programs actually work before spitting out BS all over the place. It smells and is rather offensive.
