As mcuh as I wish for a mac client, I think SE will never do this, I can't remember how many FFXI players begged them for that, but nooooooI feel like Square needs to have these things happen before Ps3 players are phased out:
- Wait until first ps4 price drop (heck it isn't even in stock now...)
- Give option for Ps3 players to move to PC for free if they can't get a ps4
- Release a Mac client ( FF XIV is going to need this to stay competitive against ESO, which has a mac client )
- Optimize the game such that it is playable on whatever graphics card is built into APUs or Intel CPUs in mid 2015
It definitely does seem inevitable, right now I only have played on Ps3 (granted not very much due to college), and the ps3 would definitely prevent something like flying mounts from ever being added.
The is not really a point. It's the fact that some people are great with the controller in this game. I do not think PS3 is handicap... I see it as someone wishing enjoy his TV and his Sofa and without needing to waste another hundreds bucks on a PC![]()

Why does this have 50 likes?
I have to agreed with OP. They never should have released it on the ps3 to begin with. It should have been PC with ps4 upcoming.
No one can expect to use the same PC for 7-8 years on new games and expect it to work correctly and still look good. That being said, the ps3 came out on November 17, 2006.
So why dumb down a new game for an 8 year old counsel when the ps4 was so close to release.
I do enjoy this game, but anyone that says ps3 limitations do not effect the rest of us are lying to them selves.
It runs at sub-30 fps and other characters look like they're animated in stop motion, but there are zero frame rate issues guys!
I think it's time this community showed some appreciation for PS3 players and SE's decision to bring it to the platform. The community would be half the size it is now without them, maybe less, and you're DF que's would be about 4 hours long. I don't ask what platforms my party are on, but on the occasions it's come up in conversation it has usually been about 2-4 members of the group.
What you constantly claim to be a limitation is in large part what gave the game legs in the first place. Have some damn respect.
That's not how duty finder queues work. Even if you remove half the playerbase (not that I think PS3 players account for half the playerbase, probably closer to a third) the proportion of tanks/heals/dps is the same, so queue lengths would be the same. Heck, I'd be willing to bet there are more DPS on PS3 than the other roles because of how unenjoyable the tanking and healing is at 20fps on a gigantic 720p UI with a gamepad. So removing PS3 players would probably speed up queues! Do it SE!
I don't care if you're on PC or PS3, if you can dodge shit and do your job well I'm going to take you in my raids but to say that there's very little difference between the 2 is just crazy, or you might be a die hard sony PS3 fanboy.

Plenty of people out there, both PC and PS3, don't know what they're doing. The same can be said for good players.
