    It is true I did not read through all of the pages, but quite a few from the start and at least the last 5. I did read the developer post also and no where did it say archer will be stuck doing the spamming key for attack either. That you and me lack the creativity to envision something else that might be implemented doesnt mean we need to fall back to being negative about it. Again, they plan to ramp up difficulty, party play, strategy, reward for beating fiends, why do you still think it will remain the same as it is?

    I can live with mages not having it, I spend more time casting spells than tapping 1 as a THM or CON but as an ARC it is vital to use basic attack to build TP.
    You apparently never played FFXI. It worked fine then and it will work fine now. RELAX BROSEPH.

    Gladiators, conjurers and thaumaturges have an off-hand weapon... a shield.

    The offhand weapon slot is a good place for an archer to put a handaxe or a knife ( neither of which is currently associated with another class- to be perfectly clear, a knife is not a dagger ).

    Would be a great addition, it really would. But 10 bucks says we just get a LOLBOWTOTHEFACE Bow animation. My hopes are not high on this one =/

    Hi All,

    People have been bringing up good points about SLEEPING a Mob, and not wanting to accidentally wake it up. I can see how having Auto-Attack on a Mage or Archer could be bad. They're far away, and by the time a Sleep Spell lands, and you tell the Archer or Mage to disengage, they might accidentally wake up a mob again.

    Also, they might've not implemented Auto-Attack on Archer for Multishot. How do you queue up multiple Arrows if you're constantly firing them? Just wondering.

    These are the feelings I was having^^;. As an ARC I love to solo, so bind not getting broken is a huuuuge issue for me. I would love it if AA was toggleable or kept @ only close range, it'd be pretty swish I think! I think to be able to control better where my arrows are flying and when is much better than essentially 'afk levelling' (in the sense that in XI I lost count of the people that just auto attacked the mob to death in a party><). I miss the whole tactics side of things in 11, while 14 does feel like a bit of a macrospam I'm hoping that the coming updates do fix it!

    LOL I can't believe they aren't giving archer auto attack with arrows, that's a massive fail in my book.

    In 11 you either had to use Arrows to build TP and press ranged attack for ever shot or go close to build TP, run to a suitable range and then use your TP attack, non of which is very good.

    Final Fantasy 11-2 indeed.

    Every other MMO (that uses auto attack) out there (besides 11) allows ranged classes to use auto attack, I think this is complete bullshit that they have redesigned the battle system and left out something like this... and I don't even play Archer.

    Um, soloing you shouldn't have a problem with Binding/sleeping without waking the NM back up.

    And for group play, it adds strategy and makes people pay attention to what is going on rather than just spamming stuff all day, so I welcome it.

    Unless I'm really missing something, bind breaks in one hit, so constantly firing off arrows is pretty much going to ruin bind soloing e_e, therefore making AA a problem lol
